Missouri passed a law for Open Carry. As part of this law change, the age was lowered from 21 to 19.
I do not know the exact details, it is another state, happy if I can keep up with what Nebraska is doing. this is the jist of the problem.
Acording to Gary of www.handgunlaw.us by lowering their state minimum age requirements, some states may drop their reciprocity agreement. Nebraska could be one of them.
So good news for a neighboring state might not be good news for us.

Missouri honors all other states licenses so Nebraska will still be able to carry in Mo. The problem with the age thing is that Nebraska may take Mo. off the list. Mo. residents will no longer be able to carry in Nebraska.

Missouri may lose some other states as well.

I personally think Nebraska should accept all other states permits. Might be a step closer to national reciprocity.

If I recall, we have the same issue with one of the Dakotas. We still honor permits from there but only for holders who are 21 or older.

When they get to our border and see the ten foot tall letters saying NICE they will know they dont need protection here anyway. Right?

What Mntman and Dan has is correct since there is no law in Nebraska covering open carry (other than Omaha) anyone who may legally posses the firearm would be able to open carry it. Missouri actually made their law stricter than Nebraska, so I doubt it would have any effect on our honoring their permit to carry concealed. the Nebraska statute on recognition:
69-2448. License or permit issued by other state or District of Columbia; how treated.
A valid license or permit to carry a concealed handgun issued by any other state or the District of Columbia shall be recognized as valid in this state under the Concealed Handgun Permit Act if (1) the holder of the license or permit is not a resident of Nebraska and (2) the Attorney General has determined that the standards for issuance of such license or permit by such state or the District of Columbia are equal to or greater than the standards imposed by the act. The Attorney General shall maintain and publish a list of such states and the District of Columbia which he or she has determined have standards equal to or greater than the standards imposed by the act.
First the issue is not their concealed carry permit related, then their law is greater than ours. It also would not effect ours there because as someone else said, they recognize all permits.
There are a couple of states, Minnesota as an example, that look for tiny variances in the laws (even unrelated portions of the law) to block recognition of other state permits. As long as we can keep a friendly Attorney General we are alright.

And NE is SUPER OPEN CARRY FRIENDLY.
There are no restrictions on open-carry in Lincoln; however, Police Chief Jim Peschong warned that openly carrying a gun could result in a citation for disturbing the peace, punishable by up to three months in jail and a fine of $150.

"Up to 3 months in jail" is a clear intimidation and scare tactic.
The fewer US Residents that can carry in NE the better is the thinking of many in the Capital I believe.

If the only significant change in the Missouri law is the age requirements, the Nebraska AG's Office will likely recognize Missouri permits issued to those 21 years of age or older, but not those under 21. They have done this in the past (i.e. California, Iowa, Maine, Montana, North Dakota, and Texas).
