The bill also prohibits state participation in any federal enforcement action implementing a federal ban on semiautomatic weapons or magazines.

Spent a week there last year on vacation and have plans for 2 weeks this year. Gotta love a state where the local police will roll up while you are shooting Tannerite and ask if they can join us. Most houses outside of town have firing ranges and there are some great ranges in town as well.

I have heard of these types of bills before, but I don't understand how it works. I thought Federal law would trump state law? Is anyone willing to explain it to me in layman's terms? thanks.

You are correct federal law does trump state law, so the only part of these bills is the statements that now state or local funds, or no state or local police resources can be used to enforce these federal laws. Does not mean the laws don't stand just that the Feds must enforce them themselves.

Put in context Arizona's attempt to fund police to actually ENFORCE federal emigration laws and get sued. Montana wants to pass laws to not fund enforcement of gun control laws and gets threatened with a federal lawsuit... go figure.
