Eastern Nebraska Practical Shooters is happy to host the first multigun match of the year on March 15! This match is open to the public and will be held at Eastern Nebraska Gun Club (Directions (https://www.google.com/maps/place/Eastern+Nebraska+Gun+Club/@41.016299,-96.107645,17z/data=!3m1!4b1!4m2!3m1!1s0x87940c55bc3772af:0x77a8e343f5e43062)) near Louisville.
We will be using the 100 yard range for this match, so please know where your rifle hits at 100 yards!
I guess (for some reason) a lot of people are shooting Heavy Metal Tactical division this year so if you want to join us, feel free. :)
We have a strict attendance policy. If you are not in line to register and pay by 8:30AM, you will not be allowed to shoot!
Online Pre-Registration: https://clubs.practiscore.com/enps-march-2015-multigun-match/register (https://clubs.practiscore.com/enps-march-2015-multigun-match/register)
Please note that even if you pre-register you still have to be at the range and pay the match fee before 8:30AM the day of the match! It would be even better if you could show up earlier to help setup!
Online Payment is available here: http://www.easternnebraskapracticalshooters.com/schedule.html (http://www.easternnebraskapracticalshooters.com/schedule.html) (There is a 3% surcharge to cover credit card fees)
Match Fee: $15.
Schedule Is As Follows:
- Setup will start at 7:15AM. We appreciate any help we can get with setup. The more people we have, the faster we can get shooting!
- Registration closes at 8:30AM but you definitely want to show up sooner if you can. We will, as always, do our best to accommodate squadding requests but your chances are exponentially better at getting those requests fulfilled if you register online or show up very early on match day!
- Safety and New Shooter Briefing begins at 8:40AM.
- Shooters’ Meeting starts at 9:00AM.
- Match begins immediately following the Shooters’ Meeting.
- After match, all shooters are expected to help tear down stages and put away equipment! Please stay to help!
Equipment You Will Need:
- A rifle chambered in 5.45x39mm or larger [an AR15 in 5.56x45mm is the most common].
- A shotgun chambered in 20 gauge or larger [a 12 gauge semi-auto shotgun is the most common].
- A handgun chambered in 9x19mm or larger.
- A holster for your handgun. It is highly recommended you get one designed specifically for your gun and not a universal holster. The trigger must be covered by the holster.
- Plenty of ammunition for all three guns. It never hurts to have too much ammo!
Not sure what division you have the equipment for [see Appendix A starting on page 62]? Want to get more in-depth with the rules? Read more here: http://www.uspsa.org/document_library/rules/2014/RifleShotgunMultigun%20Rules%201-1-2014final.pdf (http://www.uspsa.org/document_library/rules/2014/RifleShotgunMultigun%20Rules%201-1-2014final.pdf)
We also have a couple ENGC range rules:
- No shot larger than #7 in your shotgun. That means that only #7 shot and higher number birdshot types are allowed (#8 shot is very commonly used). Using larger (lower number) shot is grounds for a disqualification for unsafe equipment.
- No steel shot ammunition! All shotgun ammunition must be lead shot! We shoot steel targets at close range and steel shot has a much greater chance of causing ricochets. This is a DQ-able offense!
- No steel core, tracer, or armor piercing ammunition is allowed. This includes M855/SS109 "green tip" ammunition. Please make sure you are shooting lead core ammunition. Using these kinds of ammunition will also result in a DQ. This is because we are almost always going to have steel rifle targets at a match and it beats up our steel and carries a higher risk for ricochets.
If you have any questions please reply to this thread or PM me! I will do what I can to help you out. :)

I need to get her started shooting Multigun.

Hello guys,
Multigun looks like a lot of fun. What's the club's position on spectators at a match like this?
Thanks,
-Marty

They are welcome. Just bring eye and ear protection.

.....and anyone shooting Heavy Metal (Limited or Tactical) should squad themselves in squad 2 with the rest of us crazy people!

Is bimetal jacketed (lead core, but mixed steel and copper jacket) ammo OK?

Yep.
-
Sorry for all the questions, but how much ammo should I need approximately for the match?
-
m1, It was recommended to me to bring 150-200 rounds per gun (some times you have to re-shoot a stage)
and don't forget to bring some slugs for your shotgun just in case!
I do have a question: would an 18 year old be registered as a Junior or an Adult?
Thanks, see you all there!

Adult.
"Junior: Competitors who are under the age of 18 on the first day of the match."
-
In case people didn't see it, there was a post on the ENPS Facebook page---you'll need slugs for the 100-yard stage. Don't forget!
(And if you are on Facebook, "like" the Eastern Nebraska Practical Shooters page for comments, pictures, and updates.)

Just signed up, Will be my first 3 gun experience. Excited!
-
I've tried signing up a couple of times today but the web site has been down.
We'll come early and register on site the old fashioned way!
-
So sad.... I want to come shoot.... But I'm building a new swing set for the kids...
Totally random but the plus side of being a young parent is when I'm in my mid 40s and everyone my age is saying that they have to go do this and that. I can laugh and say I get to go shoot! Best of luck and shoot safe

Would've loved to make it through more than one stage without multiple major gun problems. :(
-
Would have loved to make it through a stage without a major brain problem (grounding the shotgun on the table instead of the barrel, forgetting the slugs, having some targets with 3 holes and others with one). At least you can fix your gun or replace it. Brain surgery?

A record for Multigun.
9 DQ's! :o
Also a record, I'm afraid. And one to which I contributed. [sigh]

It's different. Fun, but lots more details to keep in mind, and LOTS more gear to lug around.
It always interests me that lots of people who are nervous about their first competition nonetheless choose MULTIGUN to start---and it's about the toughest style of competition for new folks, just because of all those details they need to keep in mind due to the multiple guns.
A stage in Multigun isn't any harder than a stage in USPSA, but all the details of the guns and gear make it much more complicated for everyone, particularly people who've never done it before.
People should come out and shoot everything---but I'd certainly suggest starting with Steel Challenge, then trying USPSA, then trying Multigun in terms of "difficulty levels for new shooters." (Starting with Rock Your Glock before that would be even better.)
Some people like to dive right in, though. :)

I've done all of the mentioned except Multigun. Enjoy all of them. Need to round up equipment for 3 gun

I thought it was a great time! Lots of new faces and some complex stages IMO. I actually liked that we used all 3 guns in every stage but it was definitely a time hog. Hope we can get a little 300 yard time this year as I got DQd last time!

Match in April includes the 300-meter range, so there you go. :)
For everyone else, make sure you know where your rifle shoots at 100, 200, and 300 yards!
-
So I know marchs event is done but I have April on my schedule as of right now. Where is the best place to pick up slugs? Are they needed for the April match?
-
I get the 7/8oz fiocchi slugs from dsg arms. recoil is similar to 1 1/8oz 1200fps AA

Pretty much always want to have some in your range bag, just in case.
I tend to order the Fiocchi low-recoil ones online in bulk. Cheap, work well, and you are set for a couple of years, (especially if like me, you don't practice shotgun). :)
