Ernie Chambers is at it again.
My Senator Beau McCoy has called him out today at the Legislature, but nothing will come of it.
The teflon Cobra!!

Sounds like he has lost touch with reality, needs to be recalled!
-
I find it interesting that it took until today to get everyone riled up over this. I was there on Friday when he said this. Once there was National coverage, then everyone realizes what happened. I know most folks don't watch the hearings, but senators and staffers listen and they had to have heard it. But, crickets. Goes national and everyone is freaking out that Nebraska looks bad.

The loon went national.

Need recall petition!

Not Nebraska, just Omaha.

If there is such a thing as crossing a line, ole Ernie crossed it so far he's in a different zip code.
-
Won't matter, he'll get a pass because he's Ernie and he's the Left's sacred cow.

Sad to say, but I honestly believe Chambers is the biggest racist of the bunch. Sharpton, Jackson, and Holder would sell out their own mothers if it made them a buck or gained them political power, so they've learned to occasionally moderate what they say. Chambers has so much hate for anyone who doesn't look like him that he can't help but say stupid things, which keeps him resigned to the state legislature.
I actually feel a little sorry for the guy. Just a little. It must really suck going through life filled with that much anger and hatred.
-

Ernie is grandstanding for his district. Sadly his constituents shoot and kill each other more regularly than any other district. :'(
But let's ban mountain lion and prairie dog hunting, there's something his district has a vested interest in. :-\
-
been watching this loud mouth since 1971, he is nothing but a bully, and will pull the racist card is a second, wish someone there had the balls to stand up to him.
-
Just saw this on te news tonight, what a fool.

Back in the early 70's he came to our high school assembly, spent 30min telling us whites how racist and privileged we were. Then told all of us whites to leave so that he could talk to his black brothers and sisters.Told me all I needed to know about him! I've seen nothing since that changes my opinion of him.
-
If Chambers feels that way about the police, why does he want civilians disarmed?
Remember when Chambers decided to sue God?
http://www.foxnews.com/story/2007/09/17/nebraska-state-senator-sues-god-over-natural-disasters/ (http://www.foxnews.com/story/2007/09/17/nebraska-state-senator-sues-god-over-natural-disasters/)
Chambers is a clown, but, sadly, a clown with power. He's like a two-year-old with a big hammer, or a four-year-old with matches. The most dangerous fools of all are the ones who keep electing him.
If a non-liberal legislator said the same kind of thing, but about say American Moslems or black people or homosexuals or illegal immigrants, it would be all over the liberal press and there would be no one anywhere who hadn't heard about it; night time comics would be waging a ridicule campaign against him, and the liberal cattle herd would be screaming for him to be removed from office. I'm curious about what the Channel 7 so-called news being talked about in another thread on this site had to say about this; anyone here know?
Does our unicameral have a mechanism for censuring a member?
-
If the whole lawsuit against God business didn't knock him out of power, nothing will.
Sounds to me like he was pandering to his gang-member constituents who, for obvious reasons, don't like the police.

Thanks for the link. I guess at least local news can't ignore it.
-
What's scary is that this kind of thing is unlikely to get many voters in his district to change their mind about voting for him, and in fact the statements made above about him "grandstanding" and "pandering" to his district are probably right: he doesn't get elected in spite of those things; he gets elected because of them.
If Chambers is an accurate reflection of his district, maybe the police should be pulled out of that district to make them happy. Why have them there if they are not wanted there?
-
Senator Schnoor has called for Ernie to resign.
-

Unfortunately there are people in his district who do not believe what he has to say and don't have that attitude who would be left to the wolves if that happened.
-
How irresponsible for a state senator to say if he had a gun he would use it on law enforcement, I wonder how many young people in his district who look up to him might do just that, Ernie is a bad role model and a horrible human being. He aligns himself with ISIS a terror organization like Boko Haram and Al Qaeda, does his voter's agree with this or will they do the right thing and recall him? If he continues to represent them, how bad does that make them look?
-
What's really scary is when you read the comments on articles about this and see how many people support Chambers and agree with him.
-

None of the reporters present at the hearing wrote about Chambers statement...until after it became national news when Deena Winters reported it in Nebraska Watchdog.org
They were too busy spreading the false narrative of gun owners proclivity for alcohol abuse, drunk driving, shooting people and just debauchery in general.

I think his resignation is more in line.

Maybe something good can come out of this: drug tests for the legislature. Or at least one member. This is giving Chambers the benefit of the doubt of course, in assuming that he's not stupid enough to say those kinds of things without being under the influence of some mind altering substance. And if he isn't it's probably worse, because if he is he can sober up and maybe do a little better, but if he isn't he's fundamentally loony and we just have to live with it, since it doesn't seem likely that those who vote for him will ever wise up. Either way it's a sad state of affairs for those who have to live under the law he's able to corrupt.
I remember when another racist named David Duke ran for the Senate in Louisiana and there was a national threat of economic boycott against the people of his state if they elected him. And it seems to have worked, though he might not have been elected anyway. So if it isn't ok to vote for David Duke, why is it ok to vote for Ernie Chambers?

Because in this day and age it is not wrong to discriminate against whites if you are black, but a major travesty the other way.

OK folks here's my thoughts... I'm amazed people are even saying anything about this. Ernie has said much worse things about and directly too people. He's called me a stupid redneck when testifying on behalf of our organization. He's called Nebraskans in general rednecks, rubes, idiots and much worse, even calling those who elected him idiots (something I have difficulty disagreeing with since they keep electing him), he disparages religion, religious leaders, has said similar things about cops and or police for years, called public school educators everything from Nazi's to racists and worse.
Nothing is going to happen to him because he will not step down and you are not going to get 35 senators to vote to remove him. Instead lets use his stupidity against him and push our bills out of committee over his objections, then into law in spite of him.

Completely agree with this. Put our energy into something that will actually make a difference!

This could possibly be beneficial.....I can see the press release now....Senator _____^^^ stood hand in hand with Ernie Chambers to block LB___!
I'm just day dreaming...but how awesome would it be if this was the straw that broke the cobras back....& it happened because of a bill that was brought about by the NFOA! :P

He's already had a few senators withdraw support for his bills. Hopefully the trend will continue.

today o the Chris Baker show on KFAB, they had a shrink go over earnies comments and give her openion on his mental state,
It was great, I havnt laughed that hard in a long time,
also. If I posted what he said on my facebook page, I bet the police would be visiting me for making a terroristic threat,

The "freedom of speech" rule in the Legislature (officials are exempt from civil or criminal charges for things said on the floor of the legislature, only removed from office) and in Congress makes politicians "super" citizens. Their free speech rights are closer to the 1st Amendment than yours or mine. If they cannot be held responsible for liable or incitement to riot why should I?
-

Thanks for pointing this out; it's good to know and it should be made known throughout the grass roots of patriots, because it's yet another example indicating that even local media are often part of the big lie machine called the liberal press. It's an example of this strategy: newsworthiness is determined by the propaganda effect any information is likely to have; if it will promote liberalism it's newsworthy; if it will detract from liberalism it's not; degree of newsworthiness is directly proportional to propaganda effect.
Motto of the liberal press: ye shall know untruth, and it shall make you unfree.
It could be beneficial to have a centralized collection of stupid, threatening, condescending, and deceitful things Ernie has said; they could be called ernieisms. The enemy of freedom uses the weapon of ridicule very effectively in its war on the Republic, and its ridicule is commonly based in distortions and lies. Patriots should be using the same weapon, but in our case the ridicule is based in truth, because we have no need to distort what is said by Ernie Chambers and his ilk. Liberal media might have more power than patriot media at this point but we are not without power, so we should use what we have to turn their weapon back on them. I'd say it's perfectly fine to make jokes about the Chambers voter for example, being naïve, easily herded, un-and anti-American, and so stupid he defecates in his own dinner bowl and then brags about it. Remember the old Pollock and Bohunk jokes? Or blonde jokes? Just put Ernie or the Chambers voter in instead.

This is a statement from one of my friends, I have heard this before but do not have any documentation to back it up. Someone said they thought it comes from a World Herald story about the funeral etc. about Aug 17th/18th 1970 but I have not been able to find it on the web right now.
In 1970 Omaha Police were lured to an empty house with a false cry for help. A trap had been set with hIdden bombs and Officer Larry Minard was killed.
On the day of Officer Minard's funeral, Ernie Chambers said it was a very sad day because eight or ten more officers weren't being buried.
-
But if a white legislator made a comment like that. Well you know.
-
The story was just on the rush Limbaugh show, he made a few comments about it,
-
Eh, I'm not overly worked up about what he said. It's pretty easy to dismiss what a person says and take comments out of context when they actively oppose you and you want to remove them from office.
-

This was a necessary requirement so that you can speak your mind on the floor without fear of repercussions from an abusive state / majority. It was a way of being able to make a statement without fear of libel, heresy, etc. You must be able to speak your mind on the floor.
Do I agree that the People's rights (in this case the 1A rights) have been eroded insanely so ? Yes.
Back when the Constitution and BoR were penned, the extra protections granted to representatives was fairly minor. Sure, in pure ideology it's insanely beyond what the People are afforded - but at the time it was more or less "i can say anything a representative can say except for libel etc", not to the extreme differences we have today.
Granted, I imagine back then that standards were higher and representatives were held more accountable than they are today. Not sure, wasn't there, but I imagine so.

If Chambers feels that way about the police, why does he want civilians disarmed?
That is a great question. Sen. Chambers fundamentally distrusts not just police officers and prosecutors, but the institutions that police and prosecutors are part of. I don't think there is anything crazy about that — I have my own grave concerns about these institutions myself. Everyone needs to understand that Ernie is trolling you with a statement that is literally and factually correct: if he had a gun, the chances of his ever having the opportunity to shoot a member of ISIS is pretty darn slim, but his chances of having run-ins with Omaha police are far better (he has, after all, been arrested by them before). But for some crazy reason, Ernie both distrusts cops AND simultaneously believes that they are the only ones who should be armed.
Unlike Ernie Chambers and the more nationally prominent "Civil Rights, Inc." folks like Jackson and Sharpton, many ardent civil rights leaders throughout American history have prominently featured firearms freedom as essential to liberty, especially for minorities. Harriet Tubman was almost never to be found without a pistol, rifle, or both. Ida B. Wells said, “The Winchester Rifle deserves a place of honor in every Black home.”
Nicholas Johnson wrote a wonderful book about this called "Negroes and the Gun: The Black Tradition of Arms." (the book is here: http://amzn.com/161614839X (http://amzn.com/161614839X) ; a review can be found here http://www.washingtonpost.com/news/volokh-conspiracy/wp/2014/01/28/negroes-and-the-gun-slaves-fugitives-freemen-and-citizens/ (http://www.washingtonpost.com/news/volokh-conspiracy/wp/2014/01/28/negroes-and-the-gun-slaves-fugitives-freemen-and-citizens/))
Everyone should read it, especially Senator Ernie Chambers.
-
Ernie is trolling for sure with his race baiting rhetoric, but it is a real shame he can not see, or refuses to acknowledge, the racist beginnings of gun control and that his constituents are more in need of a legal means of self defense than most other demographic groups in America

Exactly.

If I remember my history right, southern states in the post Civil War South issuing so-called black codes was what led to the 14th Amendment, and the worst of those "black codes" were intended to disarm the former slaves so they could more easily be victimized by the KKK. The Klan was filled with Democrats, and the new Republican Party wanted to end the oppression of the former slaves. It's been awhile since I read about this so I might have some details wrong, but I think that's essentially how it went down.
Those who seek to disarm civilians are no friend of the black man. And neither are those who condemn the police who put their own lives on the line to defend black people. I sometimes wonder if the old KKK just decided to switch strategies, and put away their white robes and replace them with business suits, and became the leadership of the liberal cult, because that group has done more damage to the black community than the old Klan ever did, including breaking up the black family, leading them to become dependent on government, and leading them to kill each other, in greater numbers than the Klan could have accomplished. Obviously I don't really think that's how it went, but I do think Ernie Chambers and his ilk are the most insidious enemy the black man has ever had. And his insistence on hating police and disarming civilians is a big part of that.
I think it's worth pointing out that most if not all liberal leaders, including Obama, seem to share Ernie's feelings on these things; the only difference is that Ernie is stupid enough to be obvious about it. Most liberal bigots try to hide them, so you only know them by their fruits, as the Bible tells us; good ol' Ernie just blurts it out for all to hear. If it wasn't for the liars of the liberal press covering for him, he would have been out a long time ago.

Since Ernie thinks the police are more dangerous than ISIS,maybe the Omaha police should not respond to any calls in his district. Let them police themselves.

Maybe just not respond to calls for him. There are a lot of innocent people living in his district that have to put up with his shenanigans but don't believe in him or vote for him. A lot like certain high level fed politicians that shall remain unnamed. ;)

Sure, what a Nirvana it would be when those darn cops are no longer armed. What could go wrong?
You know, except for an explosion of thefts, assaults, rapes and murders…
Which they would then scream at NYPD for not preventing it!
