And it's quite a pity.

Too bad those who refuse to see can acknowledge this.

There was a comment on one of the FB posts the article shared that talked about how we assume mankind has evolved into some greater state of being simply because of technological advancement, but time and time again we see how the "civilized" nature of human behavior fades away as desperation sets in. For some, its a short tether that holds them and for others much longer. But in the worst situations, few will rise above that fear to retain it, and many will abandon their humanity

There are those who think happy thoughts without a clue that we are but one massive event from returning to the point where humans turn upon each other for a morsel of food or drop of water. This is despite the fact that every major hurricane to hit the US has proven that evil is out there and so many will regress so easily.

We have not evolved as far some believe. Under stress/pressure most seem to sink to the lowest common denominator unfortunately.

Remember Rwanda? In about a hundred days darker skinned blacks butchered a million lighter skinned blacks, because of the same kind of hatred the liberal cult has planted and nurtured in American blacks. That’s ten thousand a day, in a country a small fraction of the size of America. One big difference though is that in our case the minority has been programmed to hate the majority, while the opposite was done in Rwanda. But the liberal cult is on a mission to change that demographic, and is having much success. So what is true for us is not likely to be true for our children and their children. And I think a day will come when they ask why we allowed them to be betrayed.
Another big difference is that we have not allowed our government to disarm us for our protection as the people of Rwanda did. But I have little doubt that will change too in a generation or so, given how effective liberal indoctrination in the government schools has been.
It hasn't been that long since the brutality and genocides of the National Socialists and various communists reminded us of just how thin the veneer of civilization really is. I have no doubt another reminder will come along one of these days, since that has always been the way of the world. I just hope I'm gone by then.

These be profound words:

Genocide is not rare. Indeed, it's the norm. It's just not an everyday norm. But it is a generational norm. It happens Big-Time every few years. In Great Big Chunks. Sometimes, having large groups of Those Other People around just becomes inconvenient. Especially if they don't behave like proper sheep.
Reviewing all of the genocides way back to the beginning (like the start of the Crusades, or even earlier) gets dull. The whole thing loses its edge. Becomes a yawner. You quickly get tired of All Those Dead People.
However, for our homework, maybe we could start with the genocide of the Turks against the Armenians, early last century. All the way up to the various brush fire genocides going on around the world right now. (Some are mini-wars; some are plain old out-and-out genocides.)
Don't forget the Rape of Nanking by the Japanese just prior to WWII.
Just Google genocide.
The results clearly explain why we all need to keep and bear our arms. And learn how to use them well for our protection. Otherwise, our fat, happy fannies might be in the pile.
No need to be depressed. But......every reason to be continually alert.

"Civilization" is a very thin veneer.

"Civilization" is a very thin veneer.
And it's protected by violence- either threat of or actual. Keep your powder dry.
