I agree- I'm amazed. I utterly loathe, detest, despise and am contemptuous of the entire secular-progressive agenda and it's adherents as promoted by the 'Daily Kos' and their ilk....but that article is spot on. The logic and conclusions and almost all the examples and analogies are above reproach. An absolutely brilliant defense of the 2nd Amendment for it's TRUE cause- Armed resistance to a tyrannical GOVERNMENT. Sporting & Self-defense uses are side issues, the real reason for the 2nd Amendment is for We the People to kill those who usurp our rights.

Wow that almost moved me to tears 8) :'(
The part about the true meaning of the 2nd Admendment was dead on with what I tell folks. Hunting, Plinking, Self Defense, thats all common sense. The 2A put into writing the ultimate and final stage of the checks and balance system of our form of government: the right to revolt! The right of The People to take down a government that threatened Life Liberty and the Pursuit of Happiness.
Our fondering fathers understood that this system of government was so unlike any other, and as such was an experimental system. As with any experiment there are many unforseen varibles, but there must be constants, and that is our Bill of Rights. It lays out all the guidelines for self-government. They based these guidelines off research of other governments; what worked, what didn't, what made people leave for America! Some quelled their subjects opinions, some allowed only for a uniform religion, but most had done this by force and/or by removing the subjects' ability to revolt.
The absolute in this experiment is tricky. Someone needs to be in control. But who? The people need a centralized sort of government to keep the populace whole and unified, yet the government must be held accountable for their actions, thus enter the people. One cannot work without the other. For this experiment to work ALL rights (the constants) must remain, otherwise the whole project will fall apart and all would be lost.

It's clear that some liberals have their eyes open to the truth but sadly most most are blinded by political rhetoric.
This is a very well thought out, well written article. It needs to be widely disseminated to reach as many liberals as possible.

Any body that thinks that the leading Liberal/Progressive gun control cheerleaders don't have any guns hasn't though this all the way through. THEY are the "only ones" smart enough and important enough to control the guns. They just don't want us to have anything to fight back with.

1 rational voice in a cacophony of Liberal ranting does not give me hope for change.
If this carries on after the crushing loss we are to deliver this November to the Liberal cause, I will be very surprised

I'm equally discouraged by the lack of rational thinking coming from from the other side but my heart is lightened some by the few small glimmers of hope.
(Sorry for my reckless use of the "H" word) ;)

Despite the cutting edge of grade school humor posted after the fact....
Holy f@ck! A fairly inspiring read given where it comes from... and a decent one in general. I've printed it out as a keep sake. I won't use the evil 'h' word, but I will say that I'm impressed.

Good editorial. I especially noted the statement about the risk of the Dem party alienating pro 2nd Amendment folks who might otherwise vote for Dems.
That cuts both ways, and rhetoric that demonizes all liberals can alienate people who would otherwise support the RKBA. We should keep that in mind.

It was a fairly decently written piece and makes a very simple and compelling argument to the libbies. The fact it was written by a libbie doesn't make the article evil :)

I just think it is a fundamental mistake to think we are gaining ground when a few Liberals actually find some intellectual integrity. Like I said earlier...IT'S A TRAP
The Liberal/Progressive cause will never quit trying to remake our country into their socialist nirvana. Right around election time they will come out with just enough of this "conservative enlightenment" to convince the fence sitters that they are not who we thought they were.
Case in point BEN NELSON
Those of us that believe that the Founders got it right just need to defeat them.

I agree with you if history has taught us anything it's that...liberals are despicable human beings(?) and utterly treacherous. I am still amazed this got published on a party organ like the Daily Kos. I guess appreciate it for what it is, but I do NOT believe that 'they' are changing their stripes.
