Title: Lewis & Clark's Air Rifle
Post by: lefty on February 17, 2011, 04:04:37 PM
This a rifle that I have not heard of before.  The video is about 8.5 minutes long but very interesting.  Wondering why they ceased to make these.

Haven't watched this vid yet, but I was cruixin the WWW and ended up reading about this and other 'vintage' air rifles.. It's really interesting how old the technology is. The calibers were huge, too.

Probably has something to do with the "1500 pumps."

You can get a modern version, either in a production model (http://www.pyramydair.com/p/big-bore-909s-sam-yang.shtml (http://www.pyramydair.com/p/big-bore-909s-sam-yang.shtml)) or there are several custom builders of large bore air rifles like Quackenbush.
