Title: K98 Replacement parts help
Post by: bbtech on April 02, 2011, 10:26:40 PM
I have a Mauser K98 rifle that is missing a couple of pieces from the front of the stock area. It is missing a piece of wood that fits on top of the barrel in front of the breech and also the piece that the sling attaches to in front.I am having trouble finding where I might find replacement pieces. I don't care if they are original or not. I would just like to replace them so I can use the rifle in some vintage matches. Can anyone give me an idea where to look. I am not even sure what the missing pieces are called.

Check Numrich Gun Parts.  They're like a salvage yard for old guns:

Another place you could check is at http://surplusrifleforum.com/.  If you ask in the Mauser forum I'm sure someone can point you in the right direction.  Some people over there even make reproduction stocks for old military rifles.
