Title: Saw a Kimber Solo .....
Post by: JimP on April 30, 2011, 09:32:44 PM
.... at Green Mountain Guns in Denver theis week ......

..... It was smaller than I thought it was.   Pocket sized, yet with a 3" barrel in 9mm ....

The trigger was  ...... disappointing.  The reports I had read said "single action" ........ so I'm thinking "1911 crisp" ....... it was not.  Long and mushy.   Not heavy, but not good, either.

Anybody else have any experience with one?

I haven't handled one, but Scheel's in Lincoln has them in stock.  It was smaller than I expected.  Personally I would wait until there's more real world experience with them.  Kimber makes superbly accurate 1911's with great triggers, but IMHO their reliability is sub par compared to manufacturers that cost a lot less.  I would be a little hesitant about an unproven design from them.

Still waiting to find something that's as concealable and light for the caliber as my S&W 642 though.  Capacity is limited, but man I love that gun.
