Standard M44 ( Iveshk proofmark) from a friend who is leaving town. Clean action, well maintained, and bonus, it is seated in a composite Monte Carlo stock.
Pics to come later, I am tired and therefore lazy.

I learned something the other day at the local gun shop. We were looking at some Mosins he had and another fellow mentioned that most of them have the name of the person it was issued to under the butt plate. Out came the screw driver and sure enough, there was a slip of paper under the butt plate with a name and address on it. Has anyone else heard of this before?
-
I've never heard of that with Mosins, but it's fairly common with Swiss K-31's.
-
Come to think of it, I believe that was a K31. Sorry about that! :-(

Now that you have an old bolt gun you need to come shoot at the vintage military rifle match next Saturday in Lincoln.
-
haha i had an old bolt gun before this one...1891 Mauser.
but you are right. Won't shoot at this one, but after i get a little time behind the trigger i will be attending one.

and here is a picture, kind of crappy but its the best i got right now. 6 days a week at work leaves not much to do anything. I'll get better photos one of these days, maybe i'll bring the mauser out and get some of it too.
