Title: Machine gun shoot interest?
Post by: m0par on May 25, 2011, 01:58:01 PM
OK, the time has come.  The Monaco must go.

Who wants to join in a shoot at Exeter Arms to help put a 92 Monaco out of its misery? There didn't seem to be enough interest in the earlier thread to make any sort of NFOA benefit shoot, so it looks like it will just be a small party (maybe only me :) )

Looking at 6/11-12, 6/25-26, or 7/9-10 depending upon what works best..

I know I'll be springing for at least one belt for the M60 and some tannerite to finish her off.

If anyone's seriously interested in joining, let me know.

Additionally, my brother sold his trailer, so I can't mooch it off him. If anyone from the Kearney area wants to join and haul it to Exeter I'll pay for a few of your mags.

I don't want anything. Rob at Exeter Arms probably does though.

The range is $65/hr. Rental/Ammo prices are on his site http://www.exeter-arms.com/macinegun_rentals (http://www.exeter-arms.com/macinegun_rentals)

So my intentions were to split the range fee among the group and everyone is on their own for rental/ammo.

m0par:

Have you talked with Rob about it?

I have this crazy idea that this would be a good venue for the annual NFOA members meeting.  8)

I'm up for anything. It just needs to happen before too long.

I'd be up to coming out, watching and possibly putting a belt through the M60. I'm not too interested in renting other MG's though as I have my own. Watching a car get destroyed would be lots of fun though.

I work Saturday's, but I'd come out on a Sunday just to meet people.

And maybe shoot some things.

Gotta give Rob a thanks for getting my trust and SBR paperwork together as well.

I'm very interested. In fact the idea of it being an NFOA event is borderline brilliant. RJ

Rob says 6/12 looks like the best bet right now (sorry RobertH). Not enough time to organize an NFOA event.

Its not going to be any kind of extravagant affair. Just a few people destroying a car with fully automatic firearms.

If anyone is willing to commit to going, I'd appreciate it if you'd let me know, as well as what ammo/rental you think you'd want.

I'd like to call Rob on Tuesday to finalize the scheduling. He needs to know how long (I imagine a couple hours, tops), approximately how many people and approximately how much  and what kind of ammo.

Post here or PM, I don't care.

Thanks.

Any idea on Rob's take on personal guns at his range?

According to his site, "No personally owned weapons will be on the range without prior approval."

Well, heck. Looks like it will be just us two assuming you're still interested. I have one other person who is a "maybe."

So with that in mind, what time would work for you?

Mopar, we exchanged PM's,  RJ here. I'm thinking a couple AK47 clips and maybe some UZI. :P  I can't believe there isn't more interest! Are you thinking 2 hours range time?

Allright!  I need the details as to time we meet, for how long, what if storms come up,  etc. How many will there be. A friend and I are driving from Omaha for this. Can we take our personal pistols with us?  RJ

Ha, If you and a friend are coming, I guess that makes 3. Seriously.

I work nights and have not had time to try to drum up any interest nor do much of anything lately.

I will get back to you tomorrow regarding the time.

No rain date. If it storms, it will be canceled and the car will be going to the junk yard (no time to reschedule before the plates expire and I get ticketed or towed).

As stated earlier, no personal weapons without his prior approval.

Let me know what you are wanting to bring and I'll ask.

Gotta jet. Stay tuned for times tomorrow.
Thanks

Well, thanks to all who expressed some interest.

My timing wasn't the best, but the car has to go. Or maybe I just smell bad, I don't know.

Anyway, due to lack of significant interest (nobody wants to go if nobody's going), the shoot will not be happening. :(
