Post by: HuskerXDM on June 09, 2011, 09:23:38 PM
Will anyone who has shot in the pistol competition at the CSG tell me a little more about it?
Thanks!

Wow, I would have thought that someone would chime in. I have never shot the state games in handgun or shotgun so I was hoping get some first hand info too.

According to the website, there are quite a bit of shooting competetions with the Cornhusker Sate Games, but no info on courses, etc. I thought this might also be a chance for the NFOA to get invovled somehow, or at least members affiliated with the NFOA show up in force.  I have been pondering  "Team NFOA"  shirts.  (I know I think too much) There are many categories and I know we have members that are great in each of them.
Hey Huskerxdm, there is a contact listed, would you have time to get with this guy and get back to all of us? I'll bet we could send a few folks if it's not too late to register.

If you register by Wednesday (June 15th) you save $5 on individual registration.  Deadline is June 29th.  Competition is Sunday July 17 at Weeping Water Gun Club.  Looks like individual competition only.  I'm really considering doing this!  Online registration at link: http://www.cornhuskerstategames.com/games/sports/shooting_pistol (http://www.cornhuskerstategames.com/games/sports/shooting_pistol)

$26/event if you register by the 15th ($15/extra event).  $31/event after that ($15/extra event).

UIT is the old name Union International de Tir (UIT) (French for the International Shooting Union and sometimes referred to in English as the ISU). In 1998 the name was changed to International Shooting Sport Federation or ISSF.  ISSF rules are available for downlowd at; http://www.issf-shooting.org/ (http://www.issf-shooting.org/)

Well I shot in the CSG today.  Man it was hot!  I REALLY need to practice more at 25 yards and one handed... that's all I'll say about that.  It was interesting to see some of the equipment those guys run.  Overall had a good time and will probably do it again next year.

I think we need to push for the state games to add "Rock Your Glock" type  pistol events to the handgun competitions
