i recently got some Gun Butter @ Moeller's gun shop in LaVista. so far i've only used it on my Mosin M91/30 and my Super Shorty. i need to try it on my AR and MAC, but i haven't had a lot of time or money as of lately. anyone else try this stuff?
my observations so far... it works good so far. i can tell it stays where you put it and it doesn't really run at all. it cleans off pretty well. i have no complaints and i will continue to use it. the price really scared me off at first, but you don't need a lot to protect a lot.
anyone else care to compare or share opinions about Gun Butter?

I have used and continue to use Gun Butter on all of my firearms.
Gun Butter is a synthetic blend, red in color.
A little go's a long way. Good stuff.

I must have some old stuff, mine is yellow. All I ever used it on was black powder rifles and balls. Makes a great lube for lead balls.
-
I am familiar with "Bore Butter" ...... it's yellow, and is for Black Powder applications........ "Gun Butter"? Never heard of it.

Guess that's what I have, not Gun butter. Should have known it was different by the color.

here's the link: http://www.gunbutter.com/ (http://www.gunbutter.com/)
it is purple in color.
Rod told me he's the only Gun Butter dealer in Eastern Nebraska. he had a ton of it when i picked mine up a couple of months ago.

i just took a couple more guns shooting and used some Gun Butter....
my AR worked pretty good with it. i could tell the oil was still on the BCG and bolt and where else i put it. and it didn't spray out all over the ejection port and right side of the gun like some other oils and lubes i have used.
M&P pistol, worked good. put it on the contact points and barrel. no complaints, easy to clean off.
Super Shorty... again worked real good.
so i've used it a few times and i think ill keep on using it. yes its expensive, but you don't need a lot. thats my opinion.

Good review, I have been thinking about giving it a try. And yes it is much more expensive. Never have heard a bad thing about it other than the price.

ok one last time.....
i finally used it on the MAC. i shot about 150 rounds. the lube stayed where it was supposed to. i had some mag problems, but those mags suck anyways, so i doubt this had anything to do with it. again, the lube wasn't sprayed all over the ejection port and wasn't super dirty like it has been when i have used oil. still i like it, even though it is kind of expensive.
