The Zombies are Coming!
…so you'd better be prepared. And we'd like to help.
The Eastern Nebraska Practical Shooters ( http://www.easternnebraskapracticalshooters.com (http://www.easternnebraskapracticalshooters.com) ) are having their 2nd Annual Zombie Match on Sunday, October 30th. Shooter's Briefing starts at 9am, with registration starting at 7:30am. (So show up at 7am to help set up, which will make everyone happy, and the match will run more smoothly!)
Cost: $20 OR a new-in-the-box toy -- because this is a charity match for the Marine Toys-For-Tots Foundation. All money/toys from this match will be donated to the Marines. (And this year, we are trying to make sure the Marine representatives are able to shoot the match. Last year they were in their dress uniforms with borrowed guns trying to get in a stage or two. This year, I believe they are coming in more "appropriate" zombie-hunting garb and gear.)
Match Rules: a combination of USPSA safety rules, along with time-based scoring.
This is a pistol-only competition (maybe next year we'll go back to a 3-gun version) with both centerfire and rimfire pistol divisions.
See: http://precisionresponse.4t.com/Zombie1/ZombieMatch.html (http://precisionresponse.4t.com/Zombie1/ZombieMatch.html)
for all details, rules, and in a few weeks, some stage descriptions.
Read the new target/scoring rules carefully---we have a new class of dangerous target this year, and you have to treat it differently…
Come on out and get some Zombie Hunter training!

Just reminding people to prepare for the Zombie Match on Sunday. If you can handle a handgun safely, you are good to go for this match, so grab your rimfire .22 and some ammo and several mags, and c'mon out.
Or grab your Glock and a couple of those 33-round mags, bring a holster, and that'll be just fine also. :) We've got four divisions, and you'll fit in there somewhere. Centerfire handguns need a holster, .22 rimfire guns don't.
Stages (and rules! See the new Infected target rules!) are posted on the website at: http://precisionresponse.4t.com/Zombie1/ZombieMatch.html (http://precisionresponse.4t.com/Zombie1/ZombieMatch.html)
Remember---this is for the Marine Toys-For-Tots Foundation, so it is in a good cause. And you'll be preparing for the ZOMBIES!

Dang it! I will be out of town. This sounds like a lot of fun. I assume this will be the last Zombie match of the year?

Well----it is the only one that we hold at ENGC each year, if that is what you are asking. :)
(Regular USPSA matches in Nov and Dec, though, plus two multigun matches in November, all with normal targets.)

"Normal" targets?!
That doesn't sound like much fun. Can I at least pretend they are zombies? ;D

Darn, once again I have a little girl's Halloween party to help run that day. And here I am sitting here watching The Walking Dead on Netflix and remembering my favorite Zombie quote:
"The worst thing about the Zombie Apocalypse will be trying to pretend it's not awesome."

Move the party to the evening, and come out in the morning and shoot! :)

ZOMBIES approaching! Attention all Zombie Hunters---gear up in your best zombie hunting costume, and c'mon out to the range tomorrow for the Zombie Match! Let's see who the area's best Zombie Hunter is---so we know who to get on our team once the apocalypse hits! (And perhaps there will be a bonus match point or two for appropriate ZH costumes...)

Just wanted to drop a quick note of thanks for everyone who came out to the Zombie Match yesterday---last year we had 55 shooters, and this year we had almost 90! We raised $900 and 53 toys for the Marine Toys-For-Tots Foundation.
Oh, and also shot the occasional zombie. :)
Special thanks to the various people who showed up early to help set up----it helped immensely. As we said at the briefing, this is an all-volunteer thing, so the more volunteers we have, the better it is---and you folks made it something outstanding.
To those who weren't there---you missed out. :P
Congratulations to:
Division Winners:
- Mike Carmoney -- Centerfire Iron
- Jeff Awe -- Centerfire Open
- Sean Gewecke -- 22 Iron
- Roger Terrell -- 22 Open
High Overall:
- Mike Carmoney (CI)
- Dennis Kirchoff (CI)
- Thomas Howard (CI)
