Lincoln Modern and Blackpowder gun show Sept 24th & 25th.
I will be there Sunday afternoon hawking raffle tickets if anyone is looking to buy some
-
I assume it's still a no CCW venue? That just sticks in my craw.
-
It's not the venue, it's supposedly the promoter's insurance company's policy. ::)
-
I have seen the application for insurance and it is a requirement. Funny thing is the insurance is a subsidery of the NRA. Can't even carry on guard duty.

So then the venue is not posted, its the promoter's that post it for the Gunshow? Something wrong with this!
-
How big of a show is it? I'd like to go since I haven't made it to a gun show in over a year, but I don't want to drive to Lincoln if it's a small show or mostly black powder.
-
Do we have a table? I may be able to help out one of the days.
-
No table...
My Father in law has been very ill and I was concerned I may not be able to go, so I am just going to wander the aisles.
DE Guns will be there and I have asked to hang out near Derek and Kim's table

The show has been growing ever since it moved from the fairgrounds to the event center. I expect it to keep growing as long as people keep attending. I would estimate it to be about 10-15% black powder items and other pioneer/mountain-man related things. Just the right mix to be interesting.

It has always been an interesting show, and used to be put on by the Rock Creek Renegades, ( still is I think) a few of whom I used to shoot trap with, and they were good people to be around.
-
Well, I think the wife and I will show up some time on Sunday so maybe we'll see you there and pick up more tickets.

Last year I went with a concealed handgun and had to go back to car and disarm. Then, while walking through the show, I saw a man open carrying. He had his shirt, which would have concealed the holster/handgun, tucked behind the holster. It appeared obvious that when he saw the "No CCW" sign, he just pulled his shirt back and transitioned to open carry. No one seemed to mind, and I did not see him being stopped.

a friend and myself will be stopping by mid afternoon on saturday before the Husker game. maybe ill get a few more tickets and look to trade/sell my SKS.

Where has anyone been to a show that allowed CCW or open carry(loaded)? It is in the insurance! NRA is the one that does not allow.
Looks like around 250 tables, should be interesting
-
I open carried all day at the Seward NE show a few years ago

I stopped by the Columbus gun show a couple of weeks ago and saw two people working different booths open carrying.
-
if i only had the guts to open carry.....
-
I OC at the Columbus show when working the front door. The fairgrounds (Ag Park) is a no CCW zone.

You probably took my money from me then. One of my old junior high teacher's was also working the door.
-
I assume if you OC that they will check your gun and zip tie it?
-
Looks like I'll be there this afternoon for an Open Carry experiment. ;D
-
Report back, the lil ol Mak could use some air. ;)

I went to the lincoln show this morning. Walked right in with my heinie built m1911 in my wilson combat low pro holster. I just pulled my shirt up and over the gun so it was open carry. Nobody said a thing and I walked around the show a lot. I did notice people "trying to look" with out looking like they were trying to look. Didnt find any guns but bought a gob of raffle tickets to fill out later.

I "unconcealed" before walking in the door with the sign and asked if open carry was allowed. He said "Yes", and I thought I was home free. Then he said "It is unloaded right?". I said it was not, and he said it would need to be unloaded and tagged so I went back to my vehicle and secured the firearm. When I came back in I mentioned my dislike for a silly rule like that and one man's explanation was "Well...the police come through here occasionally and they would have an issue with it.". Of course my response was "How could they if it is legal?". I was not hostile. I just expressed how ridiculous the rule is.

i was there. i bought a few AR parts. i thought it had a nice wide varity of stuff to buy. i forgot to buy raffle tickets!! D'oh!
-
Open carried, loaded. No mention of anything from the guy checking in the rifle I brought in to sell.
Plenty wanted to know if I was selling the pistol though...
One person bought 100 tickets from Derek and Kim. That's the way to increase your odds of winning!!
-
That was me, she didn't seem to be perplexed by my open carry...got to fill them out and that will give me a good chance to see thir store
