"Democratic Sen. Ben Nelson of Nebraska will announce today that he is retiring after two terms, a serious blow to Democratic efforts to hold on to their majority in the chamber next November.
Nelson is scheduled to hold a press conference back home in Nebraska as early as today to make his decision official, said several Democratic insiders close to the leadership."

Looks like he finally realized that there is no way in hell he could win another election.

I just hope he doesn't disgrace Nebraska any more and retire here. Hopefully he won't find a restaurant that will serve him, kinda like Karma.

Adios....

I heard a radio interview with the Nebraska Republican party head that made sense.
Now we can focus on sending the best candidate to the Senate, rather than the one most likely to beat Kickback Bennie.
I have been an Independent for 20 years , but I did switch my party affiliation for this election so I can have a say in the primary

Glad to hear this. Nelson crossed us on two critical occasions. 1. vote for unconstitutional Obamacare 2. vote for Obama appointee Elena Kagan to US Supreme Court who was a far left loon who doesn't believe Americans have a fundamental right to own firearms on top of that she had never served on any bench.
Those votes have far reaching, very damaging consequences to America's future. Good ridance!

I am mildly surprised- but extremely delighted by this decision. Now Nebraska can wipe the poo that is Ben Nelson off it's shoe and move on.

See Virginia, I keep telling you that there IS a Santa Claus!
