Well, I am expanding my horizons, and I am going to be teaching classes for 88 Tactical as well as The Bullet Hole.
I have two new classes on 88 Tactical`s web site.
First is a basic Intro to handguns course. It is 3.5 hrs of instruction on how to operate a handgun safely with some time spent on the range shooting .22s. Its only $89 and is geared toward the would be shooter with no training who just wants to punch holes in paper. There are March classes on the schedule.

The second class is a Tactical Medicine/Wounded Shooter course. This class is not for beginners, or even intermediate shooters. This is an advanced class were you will be doing highly complex range drills learning how to fight if you were hurt. We will work one hand gun manipulations (left and right) and fighting from the ground. The other half of the course is learning how to treat penetrating injuries and life threatening bleeding. This is a class you wont find anywere else. I will be scheduling dates for this soon.

skydve76,
Shawn is top notch when it comes to instruction. All of his classes are very informative and he is a good guy on top of that.

I'd like to take the "wounded shooter" class, but I don't think I qualify. Even though I work regularly shooting SHO/WHO, I don't know that would make me advanced enough.

Lorimor,
We have level 2, 3 handgun classes that will proceed this class. Look into registering for them. Every course we offer is a building block for the next level. Look forward to seeing you on the range.

I missed out on Sean's Advanced 1+2 classes coming up. They filled up before I could get oncall weekends swapped. :(

I will be more clear on what I mean by "advanced" for purposes of this class and then you can decide if its for you.
1) You need to know your gear. It must function and be reliable. This not only includes your gun and ammo but your holster, belt, mag pouches and clothing.
2) Shooting fundamentals and gun safety are ingrained into you. You never have to be reminded to keep your muzzle pointing in a safe direction or to keep your finger off of the trigger when not shooting.
3) You must be in good physical condition. You will be doing a number of drills and repetitions that require you to get up from the ground with a weapon in your hand. Its easy to become complacent with your safety when fatigued.
4) You need to have attended some type of formal training beyond a basic shooting class prior to enrolling. For example, you should already know what a speed reload and an immediate action drill are. Like Jsabbw said, we have level 1, 2 and 3 that will prepare you.
I have to be more strict on who can attend this class due to the nature of the range drills. If you screw up there is a high probability that you will seriously injure yourself. I don't want that to happen.
I will be scheduling March classes next week. I will post them here as soon as I do.

I took an "Advanced 1" class with you about a year ago or so at the BH. I managed to survive that. BUT I do need to get in better shape. (which, despite my appearance, I'm working on.) :) More incentive to stay on the treadmill.
Thanks for the clarification Shawn.

We have a level 2 and 3 pistol course on the schedule now. Also intro level tactical shotgun and rifle. Soon to be added along with Shawn's courses that are up now, will be a long range rifle course. Keep a eye on the website for schedule dates and keep up on Facebook for coupon codes for discounts. I know some members took advantage of the Intro to Combat Rifle Coupon Code last year.

Lorimor...knowing your past training history, I will vouch you are probably more than qualified to take any of Shawn's courses. Just wear your TR underwear and you will be good to go.

I am hesitant to consider myself as "advanced", despite my training. I'm so slow! But I do believe I have the fundamentals down.

I'm one of the guys who took the Intro to Rifle for Home Defense last year. It was a great class and I am planning on getting another group together for Feb. 25, pistol class.
The facilities are great and the instruction was top notch. I'm really glad Shawn is going to be instructing there as well. I haven't taken a class with him, but he has a great reputation.
