That looks pretty awesome. Seems kinda pricey though. Then again the only competition I have ever done was a long distance military shoot. It was free. What is the average entry cost for one of these three gun style shoots?

Ive never been to one so Im not completely sure. It's pricey but they're at least giving out quite a bit of neat stuff just for showing up.

Its cool, and you get to shoot fully automatic weapons.  I think my wife and I are going.

I must admit its a bit odd to have this type of thing in Nebraska, as its pretty extreme for such a conservative state.

Extreme?  Huh.  I actually had the opposite reaction---It's about time!  :)

We've had a Zombie Shoot at ENGC near Halloween for about two years now (89 shooters last year---wonder if we are going to break 100 this year?) that is a charity fundraiser, and it's gone great.  Most shooters think zombie fun matches are a good time, as least that seems to be true with respect to the ones I've talked to.

Sign up and I'll see you there---I'm going to be one of the ROs at the match.  :)  (Please don't splatter zombie goo on me.  And don't get bitten, because you KNOW what I'll have to do if you get infected in front of me...)

I cant get infected , my DNA prevents it.  I'll be the last man on earth.

And all your woman belong to me.

Usually they are not near this expensive but this one offers a much higher round count than most plus food, etc.

That looks like a ton of fun.  The entry fee is definitely worth it but a little steep for me so I think I'll pass.

Hope all will consider attending.  All of the details are posted at www.zombiesintheheartland.com (http://www.zombiesintheheartland.com).
Prize table is already getting huge.  Shockwave Exploding Targets have signed on to furnish their products in the M-60 full auto sidematch.  SilencerCo and Exeter Arms will be furnishing suppressors for sidematches. When you sign on as a VIZs (Very Important Zombie Slayer) entrant, you get 8 competitive stages and 6 sidematchs, along with shirt, Hornady Zombie ammo, bug out bags and a lot more. What better way to celebrate the 4th of July, than to exercise our rights to Blast Zombies!

Can you give us an idea of what is in the bug out bags?

With the Fourth of July, maybe they can have some zombie red coats.

Bug out Bags are growing all the time.  I will be able to give a full report later in April.  Prize table looks like it will be huge.  Our largest prize table so far at Heartland has been 40K, and I think this may surpass that amount.  We appreciate your support.

Only 69 spots remaining as of 5/6.  Prize table at $120,000 and growing or an average of $400 per shooter.
Bug out bags each have a KA-Bar zombie knife and some other cool stuff.  Prize table is the pot of gold...top 6 shooters walk the prize table first, then random draw.  Just added 2 eotechs, 5 leupolds, several uppers, much much more.  Hope you can make!

Has anyone gotten any updates on this event?  I haven't heard anything since I signed up.

No, not yet.  No squadding, no squad matrix, schedule, etc.

I do know they have a full rule set plus "zombie guide" here:
http://www.zombiesintheheartland.com/general-zombie-guide/ (http://www.zombiesintheheartland.com/general-zombie-guide/)

I'd suggest reading the rule set carefully, so you know what to expect.  The "zombie guide" has been significantly updated from what it originally was, so I'd also suggest reading that carefully.

Sorry I don't have any pics from the match.  My grab from the prize table;

Engraved on the other side.  Wished it was the .357 for ammo commonality w/ my other magnums but that's okay.

Well, don't really have any pictures (though if you are on Facebook, find the "Zombies in the Heartland" page---tons of pictures there at http://www.facebook.com/ZombiesInTheHeartland (http://www.facebook.com/ZombiesInTheHeartland) ) but here are some videos we took of the match.

First up:  The Ka-Bar side match stage.  Making choices from a selection of pointy objects (or a heavy-duty aluminum cane) take care of all zombies on the stage and then bring back the ammo can (that had a raffle ticket in it).

http://youtu.be/1hAwgIvN2LE (http://youtu.be/1hAwgIvN2LE)

Next:  Clips from the other side matches, showing some of the other guns that were available for people to try out.

http://youtu.be/uJzLFWuA7xw (http://youtu.be/uJzLFWuA7xw)

Lastly:  This is what my match looked like.  Few too many dropped shots on handgun, and a couple of outstandingly bad shotgun flubs that cost me lots of time.  Fun shoot, though.
