Title: Glock purchase program
Post by: HuskerXDM on April 02, 2012, 10:32:17 PM
Hello Glock-ers,
I just joined the Glock Sport Shooting Foundation and got my coupon for a pistol purchase... anyone know who I can get the discounted Glocks from?

Thanks in advance
HuskerXDM

PS. I called the Glock customer service line like it said to on the letter, but they closed, and well that coupon is burning a hole in my pocket.

Rod Moeller or Bullet Hole if your LOE, Fireman, or military.

You have to go through a retailer that participates in the GSSF discount program.  For Nebraska, unless you are an LEO, you have to go through GT Distributors in Texas.  You can call them and ask them about their GSSF Program information.  Then, they will have you send FFL information to them for the transfer and they will sell you a gun.  You need to check with them to see what they have in stock for the GSSF program, or they will put you on the wait list.  It is not the most efficient way to purchase a Glock, but it is cheaper.  If you don't want your gun for SEVERAL months, you can go through Glock directly, but that takes a long time!

Good luck!

Yes, GT Distributors.  There is also Jack's Uniforms in South Sioux City that can do the GSSF program.  This supposed "benefit" not so wonderful anymore as you get to tack on 7% sales tax as both the aforementioned are the "official" distributors for Glock in Nebraska.  Also plan the addition of $20 shipping and $25 FFL.
The armorer program used to be the best as you could order outside of Glock at LEO price and sales tax and have your gun the next day.  Now armorers have to go through Glock and as Julie mentions above minimum 10-12 weeks.

Cripes.  Maybe for this one I'll use all my Scheel's gift cards.  It will be cheaper.

On a side note, I called Glock and asked for dealers.  The guy on the phone told me to look into the dealers for LEO as sometimes they will sell to the GSSF members.  Haven't followed up on that though.

HUSKER XDM....Save your time.....I've jumped through the hoops for you the past 2 weeks.  GT Dist in Austin, TX and Jack's Uniforms in South Sioux are the only 2 for Nebraska and handle the GSSF program coupons.   Jack's doesn't have jack :)  This has been the case for most Glock LEO dealers.  GT finally got some 17s.

I will second bullit's recommendation.  Jack's doesn't have much inventory.  Also, they are less friendly to those of us who are not LEO's.  GT is where we are stuck going through. :(

So it sounds like its not worth it.   Sounds like if you really like guns, becoming a cop might be a good option to get some good deals!

:)  Good general-use gun.  I shoot mine in USPSA competition, and I know plenty of people who both do that AND use it for their carry gun.

Having carried and shot 1911s for as long as I can remember and always mocking the polymer pistol crowd.... I finally broke down and bought my first "plastic gun" in 2008.  Now they are like rats in my home.  One can never own too many 17s...or other models for that matter .... and I'd stake my life on everyone of them

I'll be taking it out Friday morning for some shooting.  Looking forward to it!
