Title: Private/person to person long-gun/rifle sales...
Post by: just_me_mongo on April 06, 2012, 07:52:19 PM
In Nebraska, is it necessary to verify a purchase permit when selling from person to person for a long-rifle?  I have gathered information from various sources that say it is NOT.

I can't find it in the statutes...

I can only find information regarding the verification of a purchase permit to sell/transer a handgun...

Thanks!

I am not well versed but as I also read it the request of firearm purchased permit only tell the seller the buyer is not a felon.

There is nothing in the law that says you need the purchase permit, but you are not to sell to someone who you know or suspect to be a prohibited person.

I always recommend getting copies of ID and a lot of people will only sell to strangers if they have a purchase permit or CCW, just covering their liabilities.
