Title: Camping in Wyoming
Post by: lneuke on July 09, 2012, 11:12:14 PM
I will be doing some camping soon withing Wyoming and was wondering about the legalities of possessing loaded firearms for protection within parks/tents, both for rifles and pistols.

Thanks

If you have a CCW permit you are good to go for concealed handguns. I am not sure about rifles.

Oh yea, forgot to add, I do not have my CCW yet.  My application is still being processed and will certainly not be done by the time I leave.

Start here:

Wyoming has always been an open carry state, but they just passed Constitutional Carry.

Ahhh, to be living in a state that allows you to ride your atv all over the place, and carry your firearms at will like Wyoming or Utah. Sorry, drifted off for a moment. Oh well, back to the red state dominated by blue laws!

You won't have any problems, I camp out there quite often and open carry all the time. No one will think twice about.

Check the restrictions in the area you are camping in, quite a few places are Stage II fire restrictions.... no campfires of any kind.

Thanks for the replies, I searched through the Wyoming website and couldn't find anything specific at all besides the usual concealment laws.

The campsite we're going to is in fire restrictions, I figured just about any place will be because of this crazy drought.
