Precision Response Training will be holding a CCW Lifestyle class on February 23rd.
So---do you carry? Are you interested in concealed carry? Do you actually know what carry method/mode works best for you?
Do you carry a .32, a .22, or a .380 because "anything bigger just shows too much?" (You can carry a full-size. Or at least a compact, instead of a sub-compact. Seriously. All the time, barring places where it is illegal to carry. How many holsters have you tried? Just so you know, we bring a bucket of holsters of different types for you to work with--because what makes CCW work is getting a holster that fits you, not the particulars of the gun.)
Do you know the use of force laws, and have you ever actually made decisions about use of force under pressure? Have you participated in scenario training regarding your concealed carry?
What is your actual draw speed? How much distance from an assailant do you need to make effective use of your CCW?
Carrying a concealed firearm is a lifestyle choice---you don't simply get the permit, grab a gun and holster, and wear it around. (Many people try this---and it just doesn't work well.) If you are going to carry an effective weapon for self-defense on a daily basis, you WILL need to adjust your lifestyle.
Do you know how?
The CCW Lifestyle class contains the information and practice you need.
See the class description at http://precisionresponse.4t.com/CCW101.html (http://precisionresponse.4t.com/CCW101.html) for details, then go to http://precisionresponse.4t.com/Schedule.html (http://precisionresponse.4t.com/Schedule.html) to register for the class.
Note: This is NOT the state-mandated CCW course required to obtain a permit. This class actually helps you figure out how to carry a concealed weapon, how to use it effectively, and gives you practice on when to do it. The state CCW class just teaches you what the law says, and gives you an overview of a number of other informational points.. This isn't a criticism of the class, or those who teach it---the state CCW class is not supposed to be a technique class.
(We've recently had a number of people tell us they were starting their training with the state CCW class. When we asked if they had ever shot a gun before, their response was "we'll get that training in the class!"
No, you won't. That isn't what the state class is for! Please get actually firearms training before taking the state CCW class from someone!)
If you are interested in carrying----this will help you prepare. If you already carry, this will teach you things you NEED to know about concealed carry.
February 23rd, 8:30am to approximately 4:30pm. (We'll break for lunch in the middle.) $85.

The state class definitely is definitely not a technique class. When I took mine, close to half of small class must have using handguns they didn't know how to operate properly. Definitely a low bar to hurdle :)

Just wanted to let people know that we only have two spaces left in this class. If you are interested, get yourself registered.

Less than 2 weeks left until the class. Remember---you'll need either a barrel blocker or a practice barrel for the class. So if you are thinking about taking it---get yourself registered, AND get yourself the safety equipment needed.

Thanks, Chris. :)
Just wanted to let people know---there is still space in the class, if you are interested. However, please register BEFORE Friday. I am picking up materials on Friday, and that means if you don't get registered by Thursday evening, it isn't going to work.
