Let me add to that. A round is not a bullet and a bullet is not a round. A bullet IS a component of a round. Oy vey! That one annoys me to no end.

I gloss over such distinctions in casual conversation unless discussing very exacting things (ie: bullet vs round when reloading).
Being pedantic typically only raises your blood pressure :)

At Walmart yesterday I noticed a marlin .22 rifle that advertised it came with a "free 7 round clip"

Must be those Blue buckets again! :P
But seriously I hate it when watching the new and reporters constantly
misidentify a Pickup tuck as an SUV.
There are other examples but it's not worth listing all of them.

I am certain media and politicals, including the POTUS all use "assault", "clip"....etc.. just to incite the emotion they wish to drive. Even though correct terminology has been explained, they continue to incite. Don't believe for a minute these people don't have an adgenda.

I was a gun dealer for many years, and I catch myself using the words interchangeably. Does not seem like a life changing event to slip up on that.

Gets me every time I see clip in a listing on the NE Gun Exchange. If it weren’t for being notified every single time someone posts in the listing I’d have some fun with them. Last night there was 3 or 4 listings at the top with the word clip. I see it a lot on a car forum I visit too.
