We've got our 3rd USPSA match of the year coming up this Sunday---and the weather is supposed to be much nicer. (Up to 45 degrees!)
Should be a good time, so c'mon out and shoot!
As always, setup starts a 7:15am, registration CLOSES at 8:40 (so don't show up at 8:40 and expect to have that work out), and the shooter's meeting is at 9am, with shooting starting right afterward.
...and if you are planning on taking the RO class but haven't turned in your application yet, get it filled out and bring your payment and turn it in to Julie at the match, because we have just about hit the deadline.
If you've never shot USPSA before, 1) make sure to read the Safety post at the top of this subforum, and 2) make sure you attend the safety briefing at the match (it'll be at 8:45 on bay 5).
See you at the match!
(edited to fix time mistakes, and other stupid typos)

8:40 ?
-
Unless Julie has a surprise for all of us, time is still 8:40 for last registration.
You coming Mr Koz???

What's an hour between friends?

8:40 ?
Yep, that should have been 8:40. Typo!
Fixed the initial post.

Did the original post say 7:40 or 9:40? The reason I asked is that I sent a friend to this thread to get info on the match. If he read 9:40 and has not been back to visit this thread, he may be a little late.

It said 7:40. Thought they were trying to speed up stage building. Maybe they had an extra long shooter briefing in mind :o

Ok...good. At the worst, my friend will show up an hour early. I've pestered him enough about this, so I will just let it stand as is.

Good to see 44 people out there at the match! (Those of you who stayed home because it was "too cold" missed out---the weather was beautiful.)
Match results are up:

Was a good day to be shooting, good stages. Congratulations to Julie for kicking my butt in L-10!

Beautiful is in the eye of the beholder
-
The weather was good, things got a bit soupy towards the end of the match.
Those texas stars eat my lunch, especially when shooting them backwards.

It was good to FINALLY beat you, but I wouldn't say I kicked your butt - there were only 2.21% points between our scores. :) I guess this means I need to PRACTICE so that I can ACTUALLY kick your butt this summer!
-
You mean I'm going to have to practice now as well?? That means I have to load ammo more than just before the match :o. Guess I better up my power factor. And beating me 4 out of 5 stages I figure is enough to be considered a butt kicking for me. Good job!
-
Rivalry ?............. this is going to be fun. ;D
-
I can't wait for warmer weather and more range time! Dry fire is very beneficial, but not nearly as fun!
No Koz, no rivalry - just good old fashioned fun! :) Rich is an awesome shooter and I am shocked and amazed that I beat him.
-
;D ;D ;D I didn't mean at the range. The fun will be watching you two go back and forth with your banter.
-
(Now if we could just get Julie to do the dryfire practice that she keeps saying will help...)
-
Dryfire?? Is that where you run out of ammo on a stage 'cause you forgot to re-load? Or stuck an almost empty mag (1 round in it) back in your gun on a reload?? Stage 5 I reloaded with a mag with only 1 round in it at the wall. Good thing I only needed 1 more shot.
-
I stopped by before lunch to check out the stages and watch a few rounds.
I am hooked (and I didn't even do anything but watch).
Now, I just need some practice...

OH NO! I always check my magazines before I get to the line because I'm so afraid that I'll do that!!
And, yes, Thomas, I KNOW I should do the dryfire program. {sigh}

It's all in good fun!

There were a couple people I saw checking out the stages. Forgive me if you are a female, but I am going to go with the stats which say there is a high probability that you are male. I spoke with one gentleman who I believe was by himself, and then I saw a family observing. There may have been more checking out the match, but that is all I saw.
Regardless, maybe I spoke to you, and YES, it is addictive.

I was there by myself and spoke with a couple of people who were shooting, but I just mostly watched to get some sort of idea before trying it.
