Title: Precision Response Training Scheduled Classes, May-Aug 2013...
Post by: JTH on March 06, 2013, 08:43:31 PM
We've just scheduled a number of classes for the months of May-August, so I thought I'd get them posted here.  There will be a couple more coming, plus several 3 or 4 hour seminars, but for now:

Defensive Tactics:  July 13th
Shooting Skills:  July 27th
Close Quarters Technique (summer version):  Aug 9-10
CCW Lifestyle:  September 7th

For descriptions of the classes listed:

http://precisionresponse.4t.com/Courses.html (http://precisionresponse.4t.com/Courses.html)

And to register:

If we can fit them in, we'll schedule more classes, and I'll update this post.  (And if you have a couple of friends who want a class on a specific date, drop me a message and we'll see what we can do.)

[sigh]  I can't be trusted to type dates.  The CQT course is August 9-10th, (Friday night and all day Saturday).  Sorry about the mix-up, folks.

Just letting folks know that we already have people registered for every single one of the classes listed---and we have limits on the size for each of those.   Even if there is significant demand, I'm still not going to over-fill the classes and skimp of the attention that each student gets.

And we only have so much time to hold classes.  :)

So---if you are interested in any of them, get yourself registered soon.  The last Intro class we had filled up QUICKLY, so if you know people who want to get started with handguns, tell them to sign up soon.

I've talked about the Shooting Skills and CQT classes enough in the past, you already know about those.

However, for the Defensive Tactics class, this might be a little different.  Yes, there will be some specific technique skills taught in it--but mostly, it is about choices and mental aspects.  Yes, we will be shooting quite a bit--but this isn't a class on how to shoot.  (If you don't already know how to shoot, this isn't the class for you.)  This is a class on how to stop an attacker without yourself getting shot, and that is a different topic entirely.

If you don't know the difference, then you REALLY should take this class.  If you know what the difference is, but under stress don't know what choices are better for your own survival, then you should take this class.

If you've had previous DT training that was a lot of specialized shooting techniques and such--then you really need this class, because defensive training for most people (meaning people who aren't door-kickers) is NOT about specialized shooting techniques that you learn once and never practice.

Think about taking the DT class.

Well, the Blacker Ops seminar is now over, and a lot of fun was had by all.

And maybe there was a little bit of learning in there somewhere, too.  :)

Next classes coming up:  Intro, then Defensive Tactics and Shooting Skills.

I'll be posting some more specifics about them later (though the Intro and Shooting Skills classes are the same ones I've discussed earlier).

We've already got people in these classes, so sign up soon to make sure you get a spot!

We've added a CCW Lifestyle class on Sept 07, so there's the update.  :)

(And I'm working on finding a time for the Blacker Ops 2.0 seminar, since lots of people said they were interested.  More info forthcoming when I can find time to schedule that...)

Is there anything on the horizon for another Defensive Tactics class?  I really would love to attend that one, but will be out of town that weekend.

We might be able to fit one in late September---but if not, it probably wouldn't be until November.  (I've got competitions 10 weeks in a row during that time, which cuts down on our instructional time more than a bit!)

Just edited the initial schedule---the Introduction to Handguns class is past, so the next one up is the Defensive Tactics class.

Sign up while there is still space!

I took the Shooting Skills course today, which was absolutely fantastic. Thomas is an extremely skilled, thorough, and practiced instructor. You’ll leave the class knowing exactly what you need practice, as well as how to practice it. I’ve taken several of Thomas’s classes, and I always feel I get every penny worth of value out of them. I know that he’ll keep on me if I’m making a mistake, or can improve something. I appreciate that more than anything, because I know it’s important to him that I get better and grow as a shooter.

Keep up the good work!
