For those that missed the long blurb I posted regarding starting USPSA now because this is a great time for it....

...well, here's another reminder.
The Eastern Nebraska Practical Shooters will be hosting a USPSA Special Classifier Match on May 5th. There will be 6 classifiers in the match--enough for someone who is ALREADY a member to completely bump their classification, and more than enough for someone to get their initial classification if they are new to USPSA.
Classifier Stages:

http://www.uspsa.org/classifiers/99-11.pdf (http://www.uspsa.org/classifiers/99-11.pdf) El Presidente

http://www.uspsa.org/classifiers/06-10.pdf (http://www.uspsa.org/classifiers/06-10.pdf) Steely Speed VII
Cost is $20 for the match, with an additional $5 if you want to shoot a second division to get classified in it. Details at: http://www.easternnebraskapracticalshooters.com/ (http://www.easternnebraskapracticalshooters.com/)
The entire match is a whopping 58 rounds if you have no makeup shots---so you can't use lack of ammo as an excuse. (And you get to shoot El Pres!)
As always, match setup starts at 7:15am, registration closes at 8:40 with a safety briefing at that time, and the shooter's meeting is at 9am.
If you have time the previous day, feel free to meet me in the pistol bays at 5pm on the 4th and help set up stages. (Classifiers are a lot more nitpicky to set up, so we want to get as much set up as we can on the previous day.)
-
I'll be there, with a ....revolver :o, and a .... Glock :-[. The world may be coming to an end!
-
You shoot that Glock pretty well. ;)

Everyone is practicing, right? Working some turn-and-draws? Practicing your accuracy so you don't get any no-shoot hits on Razor's Edge? Getting faster at your moving reloads for Times Two?
:)
We need more GMs, Ms, and A-class folks around here! (Some of you B-class sandbaggers need to move up!)

HEY! Stop giving free advice. I have to pay you for this guidance. ;)
ETA: And THEN I have to correct your type-O's. ;D

Ouch. Remind me to give you a drill that'll completely mess up your accuracy and precision!

As if THAT would even be a challenge.

Classifier match is coming up---everyone been practicing?
Yeah, the weather isn't going to be optimal. However, it shouldn't be SNOWING, so that's better than previous months this year...
C'mon out. Get yourself classified in USPSA. Start having fun shooting. :)
-
Yeah, the weather isn't going to be optimal.
Haven't had optimal weather for any match the last 6 months, but it hasn't stopped me.

There you go. :)
(Make sure you have joined USPSA! That way you can tell us your member number to ensure that your classifiers get recorded correctly!)

Last month's never showed up on mine, the numbers are correct and the match is listed but not the qualifier. I assume it is a timing issue?
That said been practicing, not as much live fire as I would like like, may have to shoot indoors just to get some live time with this weather. Barring any stupidity on my part I should be moving up a level.

While the scores were uploaded, the classifier score file wasn't uploaded and paid for until after the 10th, which meant it didn't make the cutoff date for last month's update. It'll go through this month. (I checked on that to make sure, because I expected my horrible run to show up, and was actually kinda relieved when it didn't.)
THIS month's match (and all the classifiers), however, will be in before the cutoff date, and thus will be in the classification update this month so that people participating in big matches in June will have their classifications updated if necessary. (I've checked on that, too.)
(If you want to PM me your USPSA number, I can run the numbers and tell you if you are correct about moving up, in the meantime. If you want a second opinion.)

I'm a member of USPSA, and itching to get the requisite amount of classifiers under my belt. Just debating whether to shoot a second set

For those interested in this match, we are setting up tonight around 5pm. Setting up classifiers is a pain because we have to make sure all the measurements are exact! Set up will resume/finish starting at 0730 tomorrow morning. Registration begins at that time, too and ends at 08:40! Don't be late! :)
-
Good lord. 59 people shooting a total of 72 guns today. Outstanding!
Hope everyone had a good match today, and didn't throw too many mikes!
Results are up for the match:

If you shot a re-entry, your scores for your second division (as classifier percentages) will show up on USPSA sometime around the middle of the month, along with your scores for your first entry.

That was a fun match and IMO an excellent selection of stages. A bit colder than I had expected, could have used another layer.
The Bad: Man I was tense and felt real sloppy. There was no reason for this, feeling pressure that doesn't exist.
The Good: Despite the bad, on 5 of 6 stages I met or exceeded my goal, so I will be moving up a class. :) So I was happy to see some progress given the amount of practice I have been doing, got a clearer direction on what I need to do to get better.
Cheers.
