Title: Colorado recall petitions
Post by: CliffD on May 02, 2013, 05:42:15 PM
Not Nebraska of course, but nice to know our neighbors are taking control...

COLORADO SPRINGS, Apri 30, 2013—Recall petition drives are well under way for four pro-gun control Democrats in the Colorado state legislature.

The four facing recall petitions are:

John Morse (Senate District 11; 7,178 valid signatures needed)

Angela Giron (Senate District 3; 11,285 valid signatures needed)

Evie Hudak (Senate District 19; 18,962 valid signatures needed)

Mike McLachlan (House District 59; 10,587 valid signatures needed)

In Colorado, the number of valid signatures needed is 25% of the total ballots cast in the election of the official being recalled. Petition gatherers usually get 25-40% more than necessary.

Hope it turns out in our side's favor.

The Suttle recall didn't go so well here locally :(

Wow, and now Kansas goes all in. Wish we could do more to help out our neighbors!

Hmmm, this is starting to look way more serious than I thought. If you do some quick Google searching, you can see that there's a lot riding on this matter (Kansas that is) and it's heating up quick.

Another classic example of Holder's "selective enforcement".  How come his federal storm troopers aren't threatening to bust heads in Colorado over Marijuana laws? Whatever happened to the contempt charge that was levelled at Holder by Congress? I still think a charge of aiding and abetting a known felon should be applied for the "Fast&Furious" debacle.  The Governor of Kansas should reply to Holder's demands with a two word brief .. Molon Labe.

States are starting to seriously bump up against Federal laws.

Mary J, Guns, Health Care and several other things.

Sadly, the usual way that the Fed gets it's way with the States is to threaten to pull purse strings.

That said -- I'm seriously glad to see States starting to say "WTF? NO!" on many issues.

Interesting times :)

Here's the group leading the charge.  They would appreciate any donations you can give:

That tends to happen when the person being recalled buses homeless people to the polls to vote for him.  I fully expect him to do worse in the upcoming mayoral election.
