Title: PSA attempting to inform the public
Post by: OnTheFly on May 06, 2013, 10:07:15 AM
Someone sent me a link to this video.  Very well done, and it may sway some that are on the fence or those who are "pro-gun" but are willing to accept "common sense laws" limiting what they can own.

It appears that this MB Studio Productions is glamming up the 2A stance so that it can be consumed by the masses in the "Reality Show" format.

In a home prepared to defend the family, such a threat was poorly dealt with.   Having teens curl up in a fetal positions on the couch in front of a window, in the living room, while a second adult calls 911, as you shoot it out in the entryway is foolish.

Every family needs a safe room, and  the insistent bold knocking on the front door, should have triggered the family into action.   With everyone in the safe room, then calling 911, let the bad guys take the DVD player.

Not saying high capacity magazines is not our right as free Americans, because I believe they are, and I own and train with high capacity magazines, but a big magazine is not the best way to have handled that situation.

This is a good example of a few guys that should have had high capacity magazines, and several of them.

The final scene shows an officer in what amounts to executing to two suspects, with a five round revolver, rather than placing them under arrest.  Who knows how true to life this TV movie was of the actual event.

Well done video.

This is also  why you should have more than one magazine.

Not saying standard capacity magazines is not our right as free Americans, because I believe they are, and I own and train with standard capacity magazines, but a big magazine is not the best way to have handled that situation.

This is a good example of a few guys that should have had standard capacity magazines, and several of them.

There...fixed it for you Gary.   ;D

That was one comment I meant to make.  One thing the producer of these films needs to do to help our cause is to stop using the misnomer "high capacity" and replace it with "standard capacity" as there is nothing unusual about these magazines.  The war of the words is often used to sway those who are not in the know.

If you can, please read Massad Ayoobs version of the famous Miami Shootout.  I am sure everyone has heard of it, since this is where the modern testing on police (self defense) ammunition really took off.  Platt and Mattix where known killers, had killed several people before while doing armed robbery.  One note, Platt used a regular mini 14 not a 556 during the shootout. I believe the final shooting of the two suspects was ruled as stopping a violent felon from fleeing.  Once again, it shows how things have changed since 1986.  I believe it was Agent Mireles who finished the fight and he received a heroism award for his actions of staying in the fight and finishing it.
