Time for old Ben to be shown the door. Let's all remember this vote. I will.   >:(

The following is the text of an email I sent to the NRA on this topic:

It seemed to me from reading the news I was able to find that the NRA was waffling a bit on whether they would use the Sotomayor confirmation vote as part of their rating of senators depending on how they voted.  I, and my gun-owning friends, as members of the NRA, ask that you do downgrade those senators who vote for Sotomayor's confirmation.  We have done all we can by contacting our senators directly, and some of them (Senator Ben Nelson in particular) ignored our desires and went on record in favor of the confirmation.  We want the NRA to help us get a new senator elected at the next opportunity by downgrading Nelson based on his support for someone who does not share our views on Second Amendment rights.

Feel free to copy or paraphrase or send your own original comments, but let the NRA know how you feel!
Gun related issues are, by nature, deadly serious.  Still, you have to maintain a sense of humor about them.

Was there any doubt that he would vote as the Democratic Party told him to vote...

According to the Omaha World Herald the NRA is planning on doing this already. Ben is going to take a big hit on this one.

Not really. But I was hoping to be surprised.
Unfortuatly I feel Mr. Nelson chose to listen to the Obama adminisration rather than his constituants.

It's time to remind him who he works for...or used to.

I called his D.C. office and asked these questions.

1. Is he willing to resign as Senator when Sotomayor is proven to be a activist judge.

and.....

 2. Do the people literally need to get thier pitch forks and come to Washington and throw the bums that would throw our rights away out the door.

I was a little pissed .... I also informed him that as a NRA and NFOA member I was going to do everything I could to make his career as a Senator a little bit shorter.

Then I hit on the health care debacle.
**** is going to *hit the fan soon I fear.

I am glad we are finally getting organized to get these kinds of things done. I think we can really make a difference in the next Senate race if we get membership up and get out there and bust our tails.

We are becoming a force to be reckoned with.

Keep signing up members guys and girls, and we can get this done.

Did you get to speak with Ben himself or one of his aids and did you get any answers to your questions?

All I ever get from the Sens. are the form emails about thank you for your concern. I get tired of those letters knowing full well that they don't pay attention to them I haven't voted for Nelson in at least two elections. However this vote may prompt me to campaign AGAINST him. This is the stuff that really torques me off.

I just got his staff. I asked if I could speak with him...... And no I did not get an answer to my questions.
Didn't surprise me at all. >:(
I think we need to get a personal meeting with him when he gets back from D.C. on break.
I know that they can schedule these meetings. Also as soon as they release his public schedule I'll be posting it right away. It might be time to raise a little hell at a town hall meeting. ;D

Just a thought ....... When ever NFOA members call or write to our so called reps in D.C. we should be making sure they know that we (the NFOA) exists. Make sure they understand that we are fast growing organization with over 1000 members that are willing and able to get out there and put the hurt on their job if they don't support the Second Amendment.

I haven't taken the time to write to ex-senator Nelson but when I do I'm going to refer to him in my correspondence just like that.   EX-senator.  He is a  Traitor as far as the people of Nebraska are concerned !

Well said Poor Man. The "Get Ben Nelson out of Office Campaign" starts next weekend at the Broken Bow Gun Show. If anyone has a pic or something useful to display on a table, let me know or email it to me. This will be a main priority for me, along with signing up more members.
