I shop at Amazon.    I prefer the UPS driver over driving, parking, waiting in lines, not finding what I want. etc.

Nebraska Crossing Outlet Management:

I am very disappointed to learn of your policy to not allow Citizens to legally carry a concealed handgun in your mall. Due to your policy, I will be contacting ALL of my friends and family to inform them of your decision to strip their ability to legally defend themselves should they visit your mall. Most mass shootings happen in such "no-gun" zones as you are creating. Do you think that your policy of jeopardizing the safety of your customers will increase your business once word of this gets out?

Concealed Carry Permit Holders have not only passed extensive State and Federal Background checks, but have also passed a State-mandated and approved handgun safety and training class.

What do you know of your customers who are not CCW permit holders?

Regretfully,

FarmerRick

Yes, their Facebook page has totally been owned...but we need to keep it up.  A one-time storm will die away in their minds once opening-weekend sales numbers roll in.

I got the same canned response and replied with this to encourage them to consider a change:

"Well, it does infringe in its current state unless you change the policy to state that "firearms are prohibited except for legally concealed firearms."  This accomplishes two things: 1) it keeps us as responsible, law-abiding citizens legal while on your grounds, and 2) and it would allow you to still maintain force of law against anyone else who may use a gun for nefarious purposes.

I would strongly encourage you to change the policy along those lines to allow all of us legal citizens to stay legal and enjoy everything Nebraska has to offer."

Keep up the communication with them, but keep it positive and helpful, not defiant.

My Post:

Quote
My family and I spent over $2,000 dollars last year at the old stores for our new baby gear, tools, and clothes. However, I can not in good conscious support your mall if you continue to be a Gun Free Zone. We have seen mass shooting after mass shooting occur in Gun Free Zones that are nothing but "Soft Targets" for the mentally deranged. The Aurora theater shooter drove past over half a dozen theaters that allowed legal Concealed Carried Weapons (CCW) to the one that didn't allow legal concealed carried weapons. A mall shooting in Oregon was stopped by a CCW permit holder without anyone being killed. This has happened time and time again.

The Nebraska Furniture Mart recently reversed their policy that used to ban CCW from their stores and to show my appreciation they received a $3,500 furniture purchase that I was going to make at their competitor.

I myself have come to the aid of a police officer when he was alone and engaged in a fight with a suspect after shots were fired. We take not only our own safety extremely important but also the safety of our family and community members.

Those Nebraskans that have gone through the rigorous background checks, have been fingerprinted, and attended training classes that cover safety, the law and case studies have a great level of responsibility and follow the law to the "T". They will now have to check their safety at the door and hope and pray that you will protect them.

Please allow those that are legally permitted, under the laws of the great state of Nebraska, to freely conceal carry at your store.

Respectfully and Hopefully,
A Future Customer

I have been really really looking forward to this, hopefully they reconsider.
"Well-regulated" meant well equipped, trained and disciplined... not controlled with an iron fist.

I was at Moeller Arms when the interview was taking place. Unfortunately, the reporter as much as admitted that he was anti-concealed carry, which shows with the 30 seconds of footage they ended up using out of the 10+ minutes of the actual interview. He didn't use any of the points that Rod gave him as to why gun free zones are dangerous... to be expected, I suppose.

Here is my e-mail to them.

Hello, I have learned that your new outlet mall plans to deny my 2nd amendment right to keep and bear arms, by banning concealed carry.
This is bad business on your part, because law abiding shoppers, who happen to have a CHP permit have been thru a background check by the State Patrol, have completed a training course, and have disposable income to spend.
Why would you want to exclude Nebraska gun owners from your pool of potential customers?
Gun owners are well connected and we communicate widely, and feel very strongly about this issue.
Are you prepared to assure the safety of shoppers? Because criminals do not abide by laws, or Mall rules, and would find easy pickins among unarmed shoppers.
My right to carry concealed is much more important to me, than seeing what your outlet mall has to offer.
I and my family will not set foot on your mall until this ban is lifted.
Sincerely, Greg Sxxxx Valley, NE.

I wonder if they mean the malls in Omaha?  If so those are incorrectly posted so legally you are OK to carry there.

BTW I'm pissed off there is no North Face store there.  Oh well they will probably be over priced anyway just like they used to be.

On the news piece, it sounded like there would not be signs. If that's true, it really isn't an issue.

As for the "not infringing rights" that is correct. Only the government infringes rights. Citizens contract rights away all the time. I don't have to like it though, or patronize them.

Total bullsh_t.  Not allowing us our 2nd amendment right is not infringing.  Bullsh_t!
