On Saturday, May 10, 2014, the Lincoln Police Department’s Center Team, in cooperation with NeighborWorks Lincoln, is conducting a Gun Amnesty Day. The purpose of the event is to offer citizens the opportunity to drop off any unwanted firearms and ammunition. The effort is completely anonymous, no questions asked. The goal is to remove unwanted firearms and ammunition from circulation.

If parking is a problem at the official site, feel free to use my open expanse parking lot, to drop off any unwanted guns and ammo at my shop on O street.

My offer is not limited to just one day, drop them off anytime!

I'd like to rent a U-Haul and have it in a parking lot across from where they are doing the turn in.  Put up a sign that says give them your firearms for free or I will give you $20 for each one.

Give each gun a quick once over to make sure it isn't defaced or illegal for me to take possession of and there we go.  If it isn't kosher I'd just send them across the street to the amnesty table.

I'll split the cost of the U-Haul with you.  Sounds like a good opportunity to get some good deals of firearms.

I carry a gun because a cop is too heavy.  I carry a lot of ammo because I cant run very fast.

I just wish we'd have one where they pay $100 per gun.  I'd go buy up every $50 junker I could find and go nuts.

Then buy a new gun with that money.

The last two gun round ups, net them 70 firearms, and 24,000 rounds of ammo.

But what you can't offer is official government assistance in getting rid of stolen property, unregistered NFA items (i.e., the occasional shade-tree SBS or SBR), and other evidence relating to various crimes. These government-operated gun buybacks ought to be called "evidence disposal days."

These events have precisely zero impact in terms of reducing violent crime, and they enable criminals to more easily get away with crimes they have already committed.

Gun amnesty makes me sick. So if i go out and steal a gun and kill some people with it and then want to get rid of said evidence. i just drop it in the box no questions asked. This is just an avenue for criminals to have a way out. They should ballistic test and run the serial #'s of every gun turned in.

Next maybe they can have a book turn in, for books that express thought that has been forbidden by liberalism, America's official state religion.  No questions asked, and the books will be disposed of cleanly.  Those in fear of being arrested for thoughtcrime can turn in copies of the Constitution, Declaration of Independence, the Bible, and so on.
The liberal cult seeks destruction of the American Republic like water seeks low ground.
