The Racist Roots of Gun Control
« on: June 20, 2014, 11:51:01 PM »
Last week I posted on Miller and the effects it has had. I also wrote that if there was interest I would post more.

This week I would like to call attention to still current gun laws that predate even the unpleasantness between the North and South.

Here is a state specific list of racist gun laws.

You might be surprised as to how many of these laws are still on the books. Instead of being repealed after CRA of 1866 states added other classes of citizens to the laws so that they would pass judicial muster as not being racist.

Now you have to ask; Why is Ernie Chambers et. al. such a willing tool for bans, restrictions and confiscations?

The JPFO (Jews for the Preservation of Firearms Ownership) created a documentary called "No Guns for Negros" that covers the racist origins of gun control. I can't remember where I first found out about this documentary - it may have even been here on this forum.

Download or stream from JPFO sitehttp://jpfo.org/filegen-n-z/ngn-download-view.htm

YouTube:

And within my lifetime I've seen racism and gun control in my own birth state of California. I grew up in the San Francisco bay area during the 60's and 70's and remember when the open carry laws changed specifically to prevent the Black Panthers from open carry. I'm not a supporter of the Black Panthers organization by any means, but they are citizens and should have the same Second Amendment rights as all citizens. Which makes me wonder what the Panthers would think about Ernie's gun control stance?

The Atlantic magazine has an interesting article on the subject with more details on the Black Panther - California gun control link:  http://www.theatlantic.com/magazine/archive/2011/09/the-secret-history-of-guns/308608/.
