A 32-year-old Hastings man was arrested for allegedly firing several shots into the air during an argument Sunday night in the parking lot of the north Burger King.
Hastings police arrested Clinton Mohlman for making terrorist threats, the use of a weapon to commit a felony, disturbing the peace, discharging a firearm within city limits, driving under the influence of alcohol and leaving the scene of an accident.
According to police, officers were called to the parking lot of the Burger King at 927 N. 14th St. after a man allegedly threatened a number of people with a handgun and fired several shots before driving away in a dark blue Toyota Camry.
“He pointed a gun at least one person,” said Hastings Police Sgt. Steven Murphy. “He then discharged the weapon into the air. There were a number of rounds shot.”
Police received a call in just a few minutes afterward, stating that multiple cars were hit and the suspect had crashed into a tree in the 1300 block of West 4th Street. The man was arrested at the scene and believe to be under the influence of alcohol.
Mohlman is being held at the Adams County Jail this morning without bond. Hastings Police are continuing to investigate the incident. - See more at:
