Those 12-ga Cotton Bore Swabs!

They just get dirty-yucky-filthy with one pass thru the barrel, anyway.
And they don't clean up for anything.   Even in an ultrasonic cleaner.   They just look awful on the cleaning bench.

Instead............Use plain old paper towels for 12ga bore cleaning.

Suggested Steps:

1)   Spray-squirt your fave bore cleaner down the bore.
2)   Run your bronze brush thru, coupla times.  Pretend you're hand-churning back at the farm.
3)   Tear off a half-page of paper towel.   Fold it in halves, same direction, 'til it's about 1" wide.
4)   Roll it up into a spiral.   Poke it in the chamber.
5)   Push it through w/a cleaning rod.  Let it dump right into the trash.  Gone forever.
6)   Now do the Other Barrel.

Now look down the bore and see how shiny and clean!   No dirty bore swabs to mess with.

Finish the rest of the shotgun cleanup and.........You're done.   No dirty bore swabs to mess with.

And paper towels are cheaper than dirt.   Just make sure you get the kind that's perforated at the half-towel line.

No charge is being made for this excellent information.

And no dirty bore swabs to mess with!

The swabs....

Well, you've opened the door here for an opportunity to say uncomplimentary things about Swabbies.

But I shall decline.  Because...........a very well-kept secret until now is that I was also in the US Navy for a very brief time.  Long enough to know that shipboard life is for Others; I have a markedly landlubbery nature.

And....if you use sfg's Flawlessly Immaculate Spiral Paper Towel Wad Procedure for cleaning your 12ga bores, then you are free to sell your swabs on eBay.
