PIERRE, SD - The state House has approved a proposal that would allow people in South Dakota to carry a concealed pistol without a permit.

The full House chamber on Tuesday voted to pass the measure that would remove the requirement for a concealed pistol permit from state law.

So would this mean that Nebraska would no longer allow residents of S.D. to conceal carry here because of no training and qualification requirements?

I seem to remember that if other States qualifications were not up to the level of Nebraska's, then they were not recognized as valid in NE.

South Dakota Sheriff's Association Executive Director Staci Ackerman says South Dakotans like getting a permit from law enforcement because it's reassuring.

Freely exercising a God given unalienable right is less "reassuring" than seeking permission from the State to exercise that right?  Ya, right, only in a Leftist Bizzaro Utopia.

I don't believe Nebraska recognizes their basic concealed carry permit anyways.  I know S.D. recognizes Nebraska though.  They receive a conceal carry permit similar to how we get a purchase permit if I'm remembering correctly.

This is exactly right.

Yes.  South Dakota's excessive freedoms is frightening to the majority of lawmakers in Nebraska.

Every law-abiding American citizen already has a license to carry a concealed weapon: it's called the 2nd Amendment.  It's nice to see some state governments obeying that law.  Maybe one day they all will, though Nebraska will be on the tail end of any such movement.

I'm guessing that if citizens in these states want to have an additional license so they can exercise their right in states that don't obey the law, they could find a way to get an out of state permit.  Or maybe their state could offer some kind of permit protocol they could go through if they wanted a license for other states.
