New purchase: G19 22LR Conversion from Thunder Alley
« on: March 18, 2015, 09:30:57 AM »
I was looking for a modern style (I have a Ruger MkI) pistol in 22LR that I could teach newbies on so that their transition to a Glock, XD, M&P etc would be easier/less confusing.  I was in Thunder Alley yesterday and saw that they had a G19 conversion slide and barrel.  I had considered these before, but they have always been kind of price, but today was my day.  I didn't see a price tag next to the kit so I asked the young lady behind the counter how much it was.  She didn't know and after a few minutes of discussion she said "How does $100 sound?".  It was used, but that was still a great price, so guess what...SOLD!

Now I'm looking for 22LR CCI ammo to go test it out.

Wow that was a crazy good deal... I would love to get one for my 17. But right now I can still shoot reloads about as cheap as some 22lr goes right now and I can find it. I have a 1911 22 and a AR converstion that haven't been out since the panic hit.

Congrats on the sweet buy.

Fly, why CCI?
Tstuart34, 22 hasn't been that scarce.  Just the retailers are limiting quantity

Who makes the kit?  Did it come with magazines?

Fly, I didn't know that conversion kit would work on a KL otherwise I would have told you about it!

I can't get my Advantage Arms G19/22lr conversion to run reliably on any ammo I've tried so far.   :(

My Kadet .22lr conversion for my CZs are another story...  ;D

Those who would give up essential Liberty, to purchase a little temporary Safety, deserve neither Liberty nor Safety.

If that is a Tactical Solutions kit, you stole it. New ones list for $345. Advantage Arms kits go for about $300 on gunbroker.

Your right. Not the scares anymore if you keep your eyes out. Honestly I hate paying twice as much for a brick. Prices are coming down I don't thing I will ever see my 23 federal red boxed again. :(

I should get over it before copper plated turns into a bimetal tip and rifle ammo fired from a pistol....

IF I actually bought it, not only would it work on a KL-1, it would work BETTER.

LOL.  No THAT'S funny.

Ok...I have to fess up.  This post was just a ruse to get bullit going.  I did not purchase it.  I was at Thunder Alley last night and saw the conversion kit for sale.  Randy and Cruze told me they were selling it for bullit.  The price on the kit was just a wee bit over $100.

Only thing is I will have to look over my shoulder for a while AND make sure I do an extremely thorough preflight on my plane.
