Assistant DA pulls gun on Halloween spiders
« on: October 29, 2015, 11:19:14 AM »
Drudge Report has a link to a story about an assistant county prosecutor, suffering from arachnophobia, pulling a gun and threatening to shoot. This supposedly happened in Logan, WV.   My sister lives there and I called and asked her.  She said there is nothing in the paper about it and she hadn't heard anything about it.  The article states:

Quote
Bennett told WCHS, “He said they had spiders everyplace and he said he told them it wasn’t funny, and he couldn’t stand them, and he did indeed get a gun out. It had no clip in it, of course they wouldn’t know that, I wouldn’t either if I looked at it, to tell you the truth.”

Logan County Chief Deputy M.A. says there is an open criminal investigation into the incident.
No clip in it?
No truth in this story?

And the problem is? :)  (I also suffer from some level or arachnophobia)  I ran across a spider in my garage a few years ago that had to be the offspring of Shelob.  If I'd have lived in the country, it would have been shot.  I would consider .22LR birdshot as a good spider load.

I don't see anything wrong with that statement.  As the old saying goes "There is no overkill, only Fire and RELOAD."
I have a deal with the spiders in my area, "You stay outside my house and you will continue to live. Anywhere in the house and you die. Period. End of negotiations." Every season I remind them of this rule and every year I gleefully make an example of the interlopers.
