I haven't worn Levi's for a VERY long time so my nott supporting them wouldn't be much of a change This final paragraph really bugs me, though.

It boils down to this: you shouldn’t have to be concerned about your safety while shopping for clothes or trying on a pair of jeans. Simply put, firearms don't belong in either of those settings. In the end, I believe we have an obligation to our employees and customers to ensure a safe environment and keeping firearms out of our stores and offices will get us one step closer to achieving that reality. 

If you feel that your customers should have a safe environment then why in the blazes are you asking people to NOT bring in guns while they shop. Especially in Europe where attacks are statistically far more likely?!? Typical kneejerk response to a single instance. Wonder if he has any idea of how many people carried into that same store before that single incident?

There was so much derp in that entire statement, I really didn't have any intention or inclination to go through it point by point.  Actually it's a similar response from business's we've seen recently in the news  Just thought I'd share.

I didn't see in that open letter a promise to indemnify customers or their relatives when, not if, an armed gunman or Jihadist shoots up one of their stores.   Not willing to put his money where his mouth is?

My wardrobe is primarily jeans and jean shirts, but none will be Levi's from now on.

Levi has been off my list for the last 20 years or so.  About the time they started pressuring the Boy Scouts about queers.  Excuse me, gay people.

I haven't bought Levis for years because they're so proud of them.  I can get jeans that are just as good for a lot less money.  All they are any more is a name. 

It's disconcerting though that so many big businesses are under the control of liberal bigots.  It shouldn't be a surprise though I guess: the Bible tells us that God's enemy is given dominion over this world (though God limits what he can do); it follows that he would place his most faithful servants in the most powerful positions.

Chip Bergh, while I understand somewhat where you are coming from, I cannot disagree more with your choice. Criminal, by definition, do not follow the letter of law, nor will they respect your request to refrain from posessing firearms in your stores. I, however, will respect your request, and take my business elsewhere. I am sure the millions of other law abiding responsible firearms owners will also do. Best regards.
