This reminds me of how anti-gun bigots acted while states were considering whether or not to issue carry permits on a shall issue basis.  They said it would lead to blood running deep in the streets.  We knew they were lying and so did they.  And now everyone knows.  This same process will unfold every time an attempt is made to lift one of their illegal edicts.

I think suppressors will become easier to get, in spite of the liars of the liberal cult doing their best to keep them as restricted as they are now.  What I hope is that this becomes one part of a broader lifting of illegal restrictions.  For example, there is no legitimate reason for there to be a limit on barrel length (or O/A length).  And the arsenal of freedom should include three round burst at a minimum; this would only take a slight adjustment to the definition of machinegun.

There's still a big question over how much freedom we will get back under Trump.  What the coming months and years will tell us is how much he really believes the things he said that got him elected, and they will show how many Republican Senators and Congressmen are real Republicans and how many are RINOs.  If Congressional Republicans are the kinds of whimpering cowards most of the Republicans in our state legislature seem to be don't expect much.  Hopefully though they will do better.
The liberal cult seeks destruction of the American Republic like water seeks low ground.

Considering the host of the article, that one was surprisingly well balanced.

As to the HPA, it first needs to again make it out of committee. If it does that, it has a much better chance of passing. Yes, the way it is written is you will get your tax stamp back as a tax credit if it passes.

BUT

Let me break it down Barney-style for y'all. If it passes, there will be an immediate run on suppressors. With the immediate increase in demand, prices will skyrocket as you will have FUDD's buying up everything they can to resell at a ridiculous markup. And people will buy them. Production (or price, or both) will increase to counter demand, and until the two even out you will not find a suppressor on the shelf. You're looking at no less than 6 months of scarcity, the level of which has not been seen since the Sandy Hook buying panic.

So what can you do? I'll tell you. If you're thinking, even considering, a suppressor, get your ass to the store NOW. Here's why: If it passes, those stamps are approved immediately. If it passes, you already have your can. If it passes, you'll not have to wait or race to the shop to get one, hoping that someone hasn't been there first with a fatter wallet.

I can't be any more blunt than that.
It is highly likely the above post may offend you. I'm fine with that.

I will allow myself one personal observation. If you want to disarm yourself, that is your choice. The following quote is a favorite of mine and something to keep in mind when you make that choice.

“Sheep don’t tell wolves what’s for dinner.”

The way it is written, it would place suppressors in the same purview as firearms. I'm not sure what the steps for manufacturing would be then, but now it simply requires a Form 1.

You mean more of a run before 41-F was implemented on July 13, 2016?  :o  It was substantial.  I'm hearing wait times of a year if you didn't make it in before the deadline.  Whats interesting me is that stamp money will be reimbursed, although I've not read the bill and have no idea how far retroactive it'll go.......if at all.  Honestly can't see the "Gubment" giving back.

the date the bill was introduced is the start date of when refunds would happen.  i think its Oct 2015.

someone correct me if i'm wrong, but i think the refund would come with your tax refund, not just a check.

Thanks for that Robert.  But color me somewhat "Skeptical" about it passing.  Lets not forget we still aren't sure what we're going to get with President Elect Trump.  Way better than the other choice but with his previous history we just don't know as he seems to be a bit of a wild card.

i am hopeful that it will pass since his son is a hunter and has interviewed a few times about the HPA.

for Trump, he could be great leader or he could be a great basketball player (Fakes Right, goes Left).

Correct on the backdating. Any transfer begun since the initial introduction date of October 2015 will receive a tax credit. It is not a refund, it will be credited towards tax paid.

And Les, yes. It will be worse than pre-41F. Think about it. All those people who wouldn't file as an individual, and didn't want to pay for a trust, can now go pick up a can. If it passes, I'd almost be willing to lay money on the fact that within 2 weeks every available can on the shelf will have been bought, either by enthusiasts, or assholes looking to make a buck.

After reading the article one of my favorite lies was this one:
Quote
But gun-control activists say silencers are getting quieter, particularly in combination with subsonic ammunition, which is less lethal but still damaging. They point to videos on YouTube in which silencers make high-
powered rifles have “no more sound than a pellet gun,” according to one demonstrator showing off a silenced semiautomatic .22LR.

Hold up, a .22LR is a high powered rifle?  Yeah, let's put it on something with a lot more umph. I shot  my AR-15 at the Black Rifle Challenge and somehow ended up in the middle of the Bennet crew for one event. Although my unsuppressed rifle was a lot louder than theirs, I still needed earpro when they fired their weapons. A .22 is not that loud in the first place and is definitely NOT a high powered rifle.

I hope this goes through, but I am very doubtful that it will pass just because the anti-gunners have gotten the general public so scared of suppressors in the first place. I am willing to promote any educational videos that come out from people like the boys from Bennet in the hopes that people will learn the truth.

If we beat the big lie machines well enough to get a loyal American elected President I think there is a good chance we can beat them on illegal gun control edicts too.  Maybe not, but I think we have a good shot at it (and for now at least an unsuppressed shot).  What will ultimately make the biggest difference though will be getting a majority of competent judges in the federal judiciary, especially the Supreme Court, who will do their duty in defending the Constitution instead of being part of an effort to destroy it.
