Thank you Clint!

As a reminder to all...a quick phone call makes an even stronger impression.  Please consider taking 5 minutes and call your Senator about LB-58 and members of the Judiciary committee about LB-816

Just emailed Senator Lathrop's office and requested my email be entered into the record:

Senator Lathrop,

I am writing to express my opposition to LB816.  This bill, while purporting to be a suicide prevention bill, is in reality an attempt to deprive Nebraskans of their 2nd Amendment rights.  The bill seeks to regulate firearms that are commonly used for hunting, competition, and self defense.  Firearms of the type targeted by this bill are rarely used in suicide or crime of any kind - in fact, a blunt object such as a hammer is statistically much more likely to be used in a murder than any kind of long gun, including semi automatic rifles or shotguns.  The misleading title of this bill is a dishonest attempt to manipulate public opinion and gain support among those with good intentions.  I respectfully request that the committee members vote against allowing this bill to advance to the full Legislature.

I request this message be included as part of the public hearing record.

Good job.  I did the same today myself.  The committee should get plenty of input on this.
