Looks like Ruger is coming out with a 1911. Looks sweet. You can check it out at
www.ruger.com
or go to Rugerforums and take a look at the pics and reviews.

Oh yeah, My brother sent me some range report links. Sounds like it functions very well, good n accurate, good mid range price, and to top it all off, 100% AMERICAN MADE!

Hmm...MSRP of $799, so I'm guessing that will translate to an actual price of high $600 to low $700. For that price they'll be giving the entry level Phillipino Rock Islands and Brazilian Sprinfields a run. If Ruger would come out with an entry level 1911 in blued steel with plane jane sights I bet they could get the price down to the same as the imports.

The new Chiappa .45's are supposed to list under $500. Not sure how nice they'll be though...

I like the clean lines and simplicity Ruger went with... NO ugly rails. I really don't need another 1911 but not sure I'll be able to resist this one!

Handled one tonight at Scheels in Lincoln. Seemed very nice quality but I'd prefer an ambi-saftey since I'm a lefty too. This won't be my EDC gun so it'll work fine as a range piece. I put my name down to be called when they get more in and can start selling them. Price was $699.
