Daniel Carey has been appointed as the new NE NRA/ILA Liaison replacing Jordan Austin who left the NRA last February for another law firm.

Any more info about him?  Where is he from?  Background and experience?

Any chance we could reach out to him and see if he'd join this board/the NFOA?  I know the NRA liason has been less than helpful in the past.  Maybe if we can get him engaged with us right away it will be better this time around.

Mr Carey has already applied to be an NFOA associate member, and is pending board approval.

Non residents can not serve on the board

Hey it's a start.

That's good news.  I actually meant the forum, not the board of directors.  I hope he's willing to work with us.  If we could get the NRA to coordinate with us we could get a lot more done.  I know they've stepped on our toes in the past.

Dan Carey is out of his office until 07/25/11.

On his facebook page, it says, he was born and raised in Fairfax, VA. Doesn't have any other info available. He also has a twitter account which he hasn't used - yet. I will be speaking with Dan when he gets back in the office next week.

As a side note, IMO:

WE DO NOT WANT ANY DISCUSSIONS ABOUT ANY NE LEGISLATION ON ANY SOCIAL NETWORKING SITE. That is not the place to do real business of any sort.

I would prefer we use the member's only area for this
