Bruning declined to talk about the letter or Holder on Friday, but Bruning argues that his support for gun rights is "unimpeachable." He says he is an avid hunter who, as an elected official, has earned an A-plus rating from the National Rifle Association.

Looks like Deb Fischer will be getting my support in her bid for US Senate.

If you vote for Deb Fischer we will be saying hi to Bob Kerrey all over again :(

Deb Fischer just doesn't have the name recognition and cannot compete with Kerrey.
Stenberg is damaged goods and not popular either. Bruning is our only hope of snatching this seat from the Democrats and regaining control of the Senate which is a desperate need right now. Bruning also may not have known how crazy Eric Holder was at the time of that letter.

With Olympia Snowe retiring, the Nebraska seat won't make a difference to control in the Senate.  The Dems will hold that chamber, but Republican's will keep the house.

So your willing to cede Nebraska to Democrats and Bob Kerrey because Jon Bruning sent one little letter?

I didn't say or suggest that.  I was merely pointing out the reality of the situation and that Bruning's election won't swing the Senate.

A vote for Deb Fischer in the primary is not a vote for Kerrey in the general.

Well guys (FarmerRick & HuskerFan) I have to apologize to you for chastising you. We really should vote principle and not for "winnability". Having said that: Two weeks or three weeks ago I really started doubting and mistrusting Jon Bruning once he was called on the fact that he supported Eric Holder. His response was something to this extent: "Well lets admit that he would have gotten the nomination anyway". After I heard that I thought: Wow at least he could have owned up and admitted he made a mistake, yet he didn't. That was what got the dominoes falling for me. I made up my mind one week before the election and am glad to say that I voted for Deb Fischer on Tuesday :)

And its funny but already she is polling better against Kerrey than Jon Bruning ever did. Rasmussen did a poll on Wednesday the day after the election and Fischer gets 56% against Bob Kerrey with 38%

We do still however have a chance to take the Senate back from the Democrats. I think our chances of winning Democrat seats in Montana, Nevada, Wisconsin, and Missouri are good. Then there's Virginia & Massachusetts where its a dead heat. If we hold all our seats (and the chances of that are good) and hold onto Massachusetts and win those 4 above and also Virginia we would have 51.
Thats if the election goes well for Republicans. I think we have a really good chance of gaining at least one or two seats in the Senate for sure.

Heres a state by state map so u can see whats going on in regards to Senate Control. You can click on each state to see the polling.

Fischer has a better chance of beating Kerrey than Bruning would have.  Bruning has a history that would get beaten up in a contested election.  Fishcer, on the other hand, has a very clean background as far as I know.

Besides, the week of free, national media she's gotten will help a bit with that name id.

Deb's name recognition can go up if we all keep talking about her with others and individually ( NFOA can't) support her campaign.
