ENPS Multigun Match on Sunday, July 15th...
« on: July 11, 2012, 04:06:09 PM »
Come out and shoot the ENPS Multigun match on Sunday, July 15th at the Eastern Nebraska Gun Club.  4 stages, and you get to shoot pistol, rifle, and shotgun.  (Sometimes even on the same stage!)

Show up and help set up at 7:30 (registration starts at that time).  Registration ends at 8:40, with the new shooter briefing occurring at that time.  Shooter's meeting is at 9am, and we'll start shooting right after that.

Little hint to prepare:  You'll want to know where your rifle hits from 5 yards to 100 yards.  Also, know your hold for shotgun slugs at 40 yards.  :)

For this match, you will need a minimum of 4 slugs.  (And then regular birdshot for the rest of the shotgun targets, and normal pistol and rifle ammunition for the rest.)

Cost is $15.  See you at the range!

will you need any slings/holsters or will the guns be pre positioned?

Always need a holster for the pistol, long guns will either be staged or start in your hands---no slings necessary.

All the ones I've shot at ENGC have the long guns pre-positioned, but you'll need a holster.

I'm hoping to make this one.  I've missed every other match lately so this is the first I'll shoot this year.  I'm going to be RUSTY.

how bad is it not having a shell carrier? My shotgun holds 8. I can just fumble through my pockets for extra shells if need be, right?

You can get by without it.  I used pockets for a long time.

Plenty of people do that, and it works fine.

That being said, running to Walmart or Cabelas or Scheels and picking up something that resembles this:  http://www.amazon.com/Outdoor-Connection-Canvas-Shotgun-Shell/dp/B00162JL42 will make it not nearly so painful.  (Ones at Walmart are around $15.)  Still not as fast as actual competition shell holders, but nonetheless much faster than trying to pick them out of your pockets.

I will note the shotgun stage for this Sunday's match will require 4 slugs and 19 birdshot rounds if you hit everything on the first shot.  :)  So make sure you can carry enough ammo!

Match results are up---40 people showed up today, and had a good time.  If you weren't one of them, what were you thinking?!   :o

Spent all afternoon yesterday out in the garage finishing up my suppressor and got dehydrated & sick, that's what I was thinking  ;D

I wanted to go, but by about 9:00 last night I was feeling rotten.  Hopefully next time.

You are going to have to wait a couple of months, unfortunately.  Next Multigun match is September 16th.  :(

However, we DO have a Steel Challenge match coming up in the middle of August to make sure you get some trigger time...
