September 16th Multigun match at ENGC...
« on: September 09, 2012, 09:21:42 AM »
Multigun match next Sunday!  (Sept 16th)

...and after that, the next multigun match isn't until November, so if you are planning on trying Multigun for the first time, this coming Sunday is a good choice!

Like always---show up at 7:30am to help set up.  Registration opens at that time, closes at 8:40, new shooter/safety briefing at 8:40, and the shooter's meeting starts at 9am with shooting directly after.  Cost is $15.

4 stages, so bring plenty of ammo.  (Nope, don't know how much this time---for once I'm not in charge of a stage design.)  Bring a friend to shoot, too.

Let me rephrase that:  Bring a friend who wants to compete, also.

:)

Remember---Multigun matches last a little longer than USPSA or Steel Challenge, so bring something to snack on (or a lunch, if you like).

See you there!

Truthfully, I normally bring about 300 rounds for each type of gun, then lug most of it home.  (Maybe only 200 for shotgun.  Maybe.)

Once, when I was first starting competition shooting, I ran out of ammo on a stage.  It scarred me for life.  (And that was only on a stage, not the match.) Since then, I not only bring enough to shoot the match at least twice, I normally carry enough on me (during a stage) to shoot the stage twice.  Plus a couple extra.

I note it is commonly accepted than I'm not normal.   :o

Going to try really hard to make this one.  I've missed every 3 gun match this year, hopefully I can make it.

I usually bring 100 rounds per gun.  I like to live dangerously  ;D

What types of shotguns are most people running this with? I'd like to bring a pump gun.

Pump guns are fine---I started off using a Rem 870 with an 18" barrel, and it wasn't an issue.  Semi-autos are a bit faster, true---but they aren't necessary

I will say that you should bring the one with the highest capacity mag tube that you have, because on shotgun stages (or shotgun sections of a stage) what separates people in the scores is how fast you can reload---and starting with more in the tube means you don't have to reload as much.

I'll be there!  I have a new pistol and I'm rusty from hardly any shooting this year, so I'll be making everyone else look good.

Results are up!  Good seeing you all out there, even if I had to go home and die.

Nice.   ::)

I've been sick for a couple of days, and I was SUPPOSED to go attend a martial arts/self-defense seminar all afternoon.  So, I ran the safety briefing, talked at the shooter's meeting, shot through (with very little brain activity), then went home to get ready for the seminar.

...then ended up being too sick to go to the seminar.  (They object when you throw up on the practice mats.)    :(

Not a good day for me.

It was good to see 42 shooters out there, though!

Hey, bkoenig, where were you?  Should have been 43 shooters!
