300 Blackout Loads
« on: January 11, 2013, 05:09:18 PM »
Finally got to get out and shoot my 300 blackout I finished building in October.  Amazingly accurate rifle!  I could hear the bullet hitting the board at 100 yards so it is pretty quiet too compared to many rifles.

The first loads I tested out were 15 grains of Lilgun under a 150gr ballistic tip and SST.  Shot great and cycled the weapon fine and locked back.  The 15.5 grains were next and not much different as far as cycling but I could see a bit more pressure indications on the primer and a hint more recoil.  I think these will be the loads I play around with.

The second loads I fired were 16.8 and 17.0 of H110 under the same bullets.  Very flat primers and rough on the brass.  Not impressed using this combo.

These were all brass cases made from 5.56 once fired.

Who else loads this round and any recommendations for other bullets that I can use for deer loads?  One member on here uses 110vmax I know and had a succesfull season but I think I want to stick with at least a 125 gr ballistic tip or these 150s.

My target load is 19.4gr H110 under a 110gr V-MAX. Very good load for my 16" 1-8.5 Poly Barrel.

What would you 300 blackout shooters think of the 160 grain hornady flex tip that is used in the leverevolution 30-30?  Too heavy and not enough velocity or good load?
