Deputy arrested on assault charge

GRAND ISLAND ? The Nebraska State Patrol has arrested a Nuckolls County sheriff's deputy on suspicion of domestic assault following an investigation.

A statement released Monday by the patrol says 48-year-old Scott Stemper of Nelson was arrested Saturday afternoon.

The patrol said Stemper's arrest followed the report of a possible domestic assault involving Stemper's wife.

Those who would give up essential Liberty, to purchase a little temporary Safety, deserve neither Liberty nor Safety.

This is the self-righteous son of a gun who gave me a MIP back in 1988. Dang I am getting old.

Which is quite preferable over the alternative. IMHO

"self-righteous son of a gun who gave me a MIP back in 1988."

I ran into one of those...... (though it was me that got myself the MIP) the Judge that nailed my hide to the barn door got nailed for DUI about the same time, IIRC......... but his hide remained unscathed.....
The Right to Keep and BEAR Arms is enshrined explicitly in both our State and Federal Constitutions, yet most of us are afraid to actually excercise that Right, for very good reason: there is a good chance of being arrested........ and  THAT is a damned shame.  III.

Is anyone keeping track of LE personnel violating the law in Nebraska?  Seems like there have been several instances of different violations from DWI to violation of protection orders etc. in the past. While I don't like to trash LE as the vast majority are good people doing a tough job, I'll generalize that it's the CCW holder that goes astray that makes the news.
