www.88tactical.comThe Tactical Medicine/Fighting Wounded Course is offered to provide the trained pistol shooter with strategic skills and knowledge necessary to effectively care for the critically wounded in the field in advance of emergency personnel. It also teaches the individual to continue to fight and defend himself if he is wounded.
Tactical Medicine - lecture and hands-on practice in
•Mental preparation
•Control of bleeding
•Wound care: emergency compression dressings (Israeli Battle dressing, NAR bandage, Olaes bandage, various tourniquets, wound packing)
•Use of hemostatic agents
•Breathing emergencies: tension pneumothorax, sucking chest wounds, airway support
Live Fire Range Drills –
•Single hand only firearm manipulation, presentation, stoppage reduction, reloading
•Fighting from the ground
•Fighting from the ground while injured
Required Eligibility: Prior advanced pistol training is required to register for this class.
This course is physical in nature. You will be performing highly complex live fire range drills. Safety is our number one concern, so come mentally and physically prepared. Any unsafe gun handling or behavior will result in your immediate dismissal from the course.
The following equipment lists and descriptions are REQUIRED and NOT OPTIONAL. All equipment must be in good working condition. Do not disrupt class by not bringing the necessary equipment.
•Handgun–semi-automatic handgun with at least two (2) additional mags and a mag pouch. The rear sight of your weapon must have enough of a “ledge” that it will allow you to catch it on your belt, or holster and move the slide one handed. If unsure, contact an Instructor for advice.
•Holster/Belt– should be a fitted holster specific to your weapon and proper gun belt.
•Ammunition- bring 400 rounds of ammunition.
•Protection- bring eye & ear protection (example) & a ball cap.
•Attire- bring clothing and shoes appropriate for outdoor range training. You will be performing range drills from the ground. Be prepared for inclement weather . . . rain jacket, mud boots, etc. are good backup items to have. This is an outdoor range, and training will proceed rain or shine.
