I've been looking for CCI #500... I found'm

This guy is more than  likely a dealer because he just got 500 new bricks of CCI #500 "fresh from the factory".  It will be interesting to find out which store it  is and how their stated position on the current shortage compares with their actions.   A quick search shows that there are no firearms or FFL dealers in Metropolis, IL.  All the gun shops and pawnshops and FFL dealers are across the river in Paducah, KY.

The bid is currently at $77, more than twice the normal price.   People desperate to make more ammo will probably pay three or for times the normal price, so I predict that this "one day" sale will end at around $120 per brick.

Right now, 2:11PM CST, he stands to make $100/brick or $50,000 if he sells at $120/brick, the current bid.  But, with  3 1/2 hours to go my guess of $120/brick is probably low.   It may go for as high as $165 to $180/brick.  People with money seem realy desperate.

Yeah, don't pay panic prices.

Ever.

Granted, you've just got back into reloading so kinda hard to avoid panic stuff.

If ya got anything to trade, I can trade ya 1000 winchester standard small pistol primers for something.  I normally wouldn't part with primers, but helping out a fellow reloader I don't mind ;).

I was in the Sioux City Scheels this weekend. Noticed they still had some Winchester pistol primers in their primer cabinet. Surprised me since it was a couple weeks ago that I tripped over a shipment that just came in. The price went up a couple of bucks since 1/2 year ago but nothing like the speculators. There was even some Winchester 9mm FMJ and JHP on the shelf at normal (although still pricey for bullets) prices.  Most I have seen in some 20 other stores selling supplies in the last couple months.

Out of curiosity I used Google's "Trends" to see the relationship between "ammo shortage" and time.
Here  it is:

Amazing.   Today's shortage spike is massively bigger than that following Obama's first election.
