*PLEASE HELP* SBR Question about what is considered "barrel"

I have an MP5 clone. It has a regular HK 3-lug barrel, attached to which is a fake suppressor. Without the fake suppressor, it is DEFINITELY a SBR, but the fake suppressor takes it out to the legal length. The fake suppressor is  not rifled. It is attached to the barrel and as far as I can tell would be a bear to remove. I guess I don't know how tough, because I have no real desire to mess with it.
My question is - Is this ok to satisfy the requirements for the barrel length on a "regular" rifle? I just want to make sure so that if it isn't, I can figure out what to do to remedy the issue.

if it is permanently affixed to the barrel, it counts as barrel.

permanent being silver solder or pinned. loctite does not count.

look for a small weld where the flash suppressor meets the barrel.

It'll probably be a little scuff mark on the bottom of the suppressor, where the fake suppressor screws on the the barrel.

I little hole is drilled, pin inserted, and a little weld is applied over it. It may have been ground down and refinished or something...which may make it very difficult to tell.

If you don't see anything, you had better try to take that off and figure out if you're breaking the law. If law is being broken, get it drilled, pinned, and welded before DHS's computer software flags this conversation and a swat team kicks in your door.
